| This study is an extension of Baesler's (1994) research on communicator style and religious orientation. Relationships between Norton's (1984) communicator style (CS) measures, Christian Orthodoxy (CO) and Experiential Religiosity (ER) religious orientations were investigated. It was hypothesized that both Open and Attentive CS would be positively associated with CO and ER. The results do not generally support this relationship, but the study does find partial support for the relationship between attentive CS and CO and ER religious orientations. The discussion addresses possible reasons for this weak relationship and concludes with implications for future research. |
