A comparative study of the performance of conventional, anoxic-aerobic, and anoxic-anaerobic-aerobic treatment processes for biological nutrient removal was conducted on a pilot plant from July 1989 to July 1990. During the operational period, Qr/Q ratio and EMLSS were maintained around 0.5 and 2650 mg/L respectively and DO was kept above 4.0 mg/L.
