Antimony is a common toxic heavy metal element in soil.China is the largest producer of antimony in the world, with the extensive use of antimony and antimony mineral exploitation,a large number of antimony into the atmosphere, surface water, groundwater and soil, caused by the surface environment is becoming increasingly serious pollution of antimony, which produced a great threat to human health. It is very important to study the distribution and geochemical characteristics of antimony in the soil of China, which has a very important significance for the protection of soil resources in China. On the basis of soil geochemical survey data, this study analyzed the geochemical characteristics of antimony in soils of the Yellow River,Yangtze River and Pearl River Basin by the method of statistical analysis, and analyzed the effect of soil parent material and climate factors on antimony elements in soil by defining single change conditions.Analysis of the three major river basins of the Yellow River, the Yangtze River and the Pearl River found that with high antimony content in geological background areas(mainly antimony mine),high antimony element content in soil. The content of antimony element in soil affected by the geological background and the soil parent materials. The content of antimony in soil increased gradually from north to South China,it shows that the antimony content in soil is affected by climatic factors, the higher the temperature, the greater the amount of precipitation, the higher the content of antimony in soil.Antimony element content in soil is fundamentally controlled by the formation of soil parent materials.Different parent materials formed various type of soils, which have great difference of antimony content. The soil formed by sedimentary rocks has the highest content of antimony.Correlation analysis based on different soil parent material antimony element with the original rock feature elements found that the relationship between antimony and the characteristic elements has a significant positive correlation, this shows that the antimony content in the soil is influenced by soil parent materials. The antimony in soil is influenced by the environmental and climatic factors. This study analyzed the relationship between the temperature, precipitation, acidity and the content of antimony, and studied the correlation analysis between chemical weathering index and antimony element, results show that the higher the temperature, the greater the precipitation, the p H value is neutral, which is conducive to the accumulation of antimony in the soil. But in tropical areas with more than 1600 mm of rainfall, the leaching rate of antimony is higher than that of accumulation rate, the antimony element is easy to form the complex to be taken away by water,so the content of antimony in the surface soil lower than that in the deep soil.A comparison of correlation coefficients of soil elements, chemical weathering index and antimony element found that the correlation coefficient of antimony element and soil parent material elements was generally greater than that of antimony and the chemical weathering index. It shows with the process of the development of the original rock into the soil, antimony element experienced the impact of soil parent material and environmental factors. The influence of parent materials on antimony content in soil was greater than that of environmental factors,it can be said that the content of antimony in soil is fundamentally controlled by the content of antimony in the original rock.
