Quantum chromodynamics(QCD)is the fundamental theory that describes the strong interactions between quarks and gluons which are the composition bricks of hadrons.Two important properties of QCD are asymptotic freedom and quark confinement.However,it is expected that under extreme conditions of high temperature and density,quarks and gluons confined in hadrons may be librated to form a new kind of matter,quark-gluon Plasma(QGP).The perturbative calculation of quantum chromodynamics can successfully describe the strong interacting process under large transverse momentum transfers.Based on lead-ing order and next-to-leading order perturbation QCD theory,the productions of 6 types of mesons(including ?~0,?,K_S~0.?,? and ?~0)at large transverse momentum in p+p and p+Pb collisions are investigated in detail.In order to describe the process of final-state in p+p collisions,the scattering cross section can be factorized into a convolution of the non-perturbative long-range part and the perturbable short-range part by using the factorization theorem.In the whole process,one of two non-perturbative processes is to describe how partons of the initial-state proton are distributed,which is called the parton distribution functions(PDFs);the other is to describe how the partons are fragmented into the final-state particles,called the fragmentation functions(FFs).Then,we make a systematic study of the productions of ?~0,?,K_S~0,?,? and ?~0 in p+Pb collisions at 5.02TeV at the LHC.We have taken into account cold nuclear matter effects with the incoming initial-state Lead nucleus.In our numerical calculations,we utilize the NLO EPPS 16 and DSSZ parameter-izations as well as the LO nIMPartonl6 parameterization of the nuclear parton distribution functions(nPDFs)to describe the distribution of partons in the Lead.In this paper,parton distribution functions(PDFs)for proton by CT14 parameteriza-tion are used for computing leading meson productions.The fragmentation functions of?~0,? and K_S~0 are taken from KKP,AESSS and AKK08 parameterizations,respectively.The fragmentation functions of ?,? and ?~0 mesons are derived from the broken SU(3)model.The numerical results of productions of ?~0 and ? in p+Pb at 5.02TeV are provided and confronted against the ALICE experiment data.For the productions of K_S~0,?,? and p~0 mesons,there are very few experimental data at the LHC so far,and we present the nu-merical simulations on the nuclear modification factors for K_S~0,?,? and ?~0 mesons with large p_T at leading order and next-to-leading order(NLO)accuracy.
