The Xingluokeng tungsten deposit is located at the junction of Ninghua county and Qingliu County in the northwest of Fujian Province. Its tectonic position lies in southern margin of Caledonian uplift belt in Northwest Fujian Province, east of Caledonian fold system in South China.Since discovering this deposit, some researchers have carried out certain research work and their work are mainly focused on ore deposit geology, geochemistry and petrology. On the whole, the research degree of this deposit is relatively low.On the basis of previous studies, this paper focuses on the ore-controlling structure and metallogenic epoch of the deposit, discusses the metallogenic age of the tungsten deposit in South China, and the main achievements are as follows:(1)Through the investigation of typical deposits and the statistical analysis of ore-bearing structural fractures,it is pointed out that the quartz veinlet type and quartz veinlet type ore bodies of Xingluokeng tungsten deposit are mainly controlled by the near EW(NEE and NWW)fractures, and the metallogenic rock mass is controlled by the core of Xingluokeng inverted anticline.(2)The study of metallogenic chronology shows that the Sm-Nd isochron age of scheelite in vein ore body is(142.6±2.8)Ma,which is completely consistent with the diagenetic age(143.5±3)Ma of concealed rock mass in mining area in the error range and both of them belongs to the products of late Jurassic, indicating that magmatism and tungsten polymetallic mineralization are simultaneous.(3)Through statistical analysis of the tungsten metallogenic age in southern China,it is found that most tungsten metallogenic ages in southern China are concentrated at 150-160 Ma,followed by 140-150 Ma.Although the number of tungsten deposits or mineralization spots formed in South China during 140-150 Ma is less than that formed in 150-160 Ma,their reserves are very considerable, and they may be super large tungsten deposits or world-class super large tungsten deposits.(4)The paper discusses the tectonic stress field characteristics of the formation of the Indosinian-Yanshanian ore-controlling structural fractures, and puts forward the ore-controlling structural model of the deposit.(5)This paper discusses the applicability of the 'five-storeyed type' model in this mine, and preliminarily believes that the veins developed in the rock mass and surrounding rock of the mining area do not have the vertical zoning characteristics of the 'five-storeyed type' model summarized by predecessors. There is great potential for deep prospecting and near east-west prospecting along the periphery of the mining area.
