With the continuous progress and development of deep drilling engineering,higher requirements are put forward for the service performance and service life of drilling equipment,among which the wear resistance of drilling tools occupies an important position.In this paper,the wear behavior of 4145 H drilling tool steel in 9 kinds of water-based mud were studied by simulating the actual working environment of drilling tools and using the improved ASTM B611 test system.The wear mechanism of 4145 H steel after wear was observed under different abrasive particles.Then,the wear condition of drill tools was estimated according to the wear amount,wear rate and surface roughness after wear,and the wear resistance performance of the drill was analyzed and evaluated.The amount of wear loss and wear rate measured under the same conditions are only positively correlated with the sliding distance,but less affected by abrasive hardness and sand concentration when soft abrasive particles were applied such as talcum,dolomite and fluorite.The material removal mechanism of steel parts is the peeling caused by plastic deformation after repeated extrusion.The main movement of abrasive particles on the contact surface is rolling.The amount of wear loss and wear rate measured under the same conditions are positively correlated with sliding distance,abrasive hardness and sand particle concentration when hard abrasives were used.The scratch depth and wear degree of the sample surface are different with different abrasive particles,among which the hardness of silica is minimum and carborundum is maximum.The material removal mechanism of the sample is the cutting,and the main movement form of the abrasive particles on the contact surface is relative sliding.When the abrasive particles of soft abrasive talcum,dolomite,fluorite and hard abrasive quartz sand were used at the same time,and the wear degree is between the experimental results of using soft abrasive and hard abrasive respectively.At this time,the material removal mechanism of the sample is plastic deformation caused by material falling off and cutting.In actual working conditions,determining the "inflection point" of the wear rate is the key to analyzing its anti-wear performance and reasonably estimating the wear of the drill tool when soft and hard abrasive particles exist at the same time.
