The research area is located in the western portion of the southern margin of Langshan Mountain in the Inner Mongolia Plateau.There are favourable metallogenic geological conditions in the area,and there are large-scale mines such as Tongkuangyu mine and Tanyaokou mine.Howerer,in the research area the terrain is dangerous and the altitude is high,valley topographic aeolian sands and alluvial material cause resistance and tolerance,and inconvenient transportation in the area increase the difficulty of the ground-based survey.Remote sensing technology can be used to make mineralization prediction and provide information for prospecting.This paper attempts to use IRS-P6 data and ASTER data for remote sensing interpretation,combined with the geological data,geophysical data and geochemical data for comprehensive analysis,to confirm metallogenic prospective areas.The main procedures and achievements of this paper include:1.By using the fusion image of IRS-P6 data and ASTER data,the interpretation marks of lithologic image in the research area are established,and the geological interpretation of remote sensing image is carried out.Seven large fault structures,several small faults and many circular structures are interpreted,which provides the basis for metallogenic prediction.2.Using fourteen channels of ASTER data and band ratio method,eleven kinds of mineral indexes are selected to extract the anomaly information,and the anomaly distribution map of nine kinds of alteration mineral assemblages is established,which provides the spatial information of mineralization concentration area.3.Integrate remote sensing interpretation information,geological data,geophysical data and geochemical data,metallogenic regularities are summarized.The Mesoproterozoic Zhaertaishan Group is the main ore-bearing horizon,the NE and NS structures are the main ore-control structures,the mineralization is closely related to the magmatic intrusion activities of Ordovician,Permian and Jurassic.Establish metallogenic model,and delineate four metallogenic prospect areas.It provides some useful reference information for future mineral exploration.
