Water Resources Dilemma Of Five Central Asian Countries And Its Countermeasures

In terms of natural resources,Central Asia is located in the heart of the Eurasian continent,and its geographical position is related to the connection hub of major Eurasian countries and the connectivity of transportation,energy and trade initiated by China's "One Belt And One Road".However,as an important part of east Asia,South Asia,Middle East and Europe inland channel,Central Asia,although suitable for agricultural development,abundant natural resources,but water resources talent,the day after tomorrow to coordinate fatigue,caused severe water trouble,and the spillover from time to time in the field of traditional security,non-traditional security fields become a geopolitical issues.The upper reaches of Central Asia have a typical continental climate in the temperate zone.Because of rivers running through it,water resources are relatively abundant and there are many large-scale hydroelectric power plants.Seasonal energy supply features are obvious,but natural resources such as oil and natural gas are scarce.Affected by cold weather in winter,energy supply is insufficient,and most residents live a hard life.The lower reaches are flat with developed agriculture and rich in oil,natural gas and other natural energy sources,but most of the region is desert and Gobi,and water resources are seriously lacking.In terms of social coordination,after the disintegration of the former Soviet Union,the water resources coordination mechanism failed.Considering their own interests,the five Central Asian countries put forward various policies in favor of their own development,which seriously damaged the balance of water resources.With the increase of population,the development of agricultural economy has been put on the agenda of all countries,which accelerates the increase of energy consumption in the upper reaches of the country in winter and irrigation water consumption in the lower reaches in summer.This cycle goes round and round.Different resource demands and lack of resources in the upper and lower reaches of the country cause various social contradictions,which are difficult to be solved within the five countries.With the rapid development of economy,China's comprehensive national strength has been significantly enhanced.The SCO led by China has played an important role in maintaining stability in Central Asia and has made great contributions to the fight against terrorism and drugs.In 2013,General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the "One Belt And One Road" initiative,which has brought a lot of trade opportunities to Central Asia and promoted all-round investment and cooperation between China and the five Central Asian countries.In 2015,the "Eurasian Economic Union" was formally established,which has become an important economic cooperation channel between the Central Asian countries and Russia.The establishment of the three major regional cooperation platforms has contributed to the increasingly close trade partnership between Russia,Central Asia and China.Negotiations and economic assistance conducted by the three platforms have the opportunity to provide a platform for solving the water resources distribution dilemma in Central Asia,and China is capable of playing the most critical role,while in the process of solving the water resources dilemma,striving for a more powerful development opportunity.
