Mathematics is the basis of natural science,but there are few Braille books in mathematics,heavy workload and low accuracy appearing in translating mathematical formulas into Braille and it is difficult for the blind to obtain mathematical information directly from the computer,which cause them to have great difficulties in learning mathematics and obtaining mathematical information.At present,the research of mathematical information accessibility has made some progress,but there are still some problems such as less functions and low conversion efficiency.This paper designs a linear input method of mathematical formula for the blind,and realizes the transformation from mathematical formula to Math ML content.Moreover,this paper also proposes the concepts of structure identifier and semantic identifier in mathematical Braille,and designs a conversion method from Math ML content to Braille ASCII code based on the idea of identifier,and finally realizes the conversion of mathematical formula from linear input to Braille output.The main work and results of this article are as follows:(1)Research on mathematical formula input method for the blindBased on the parameter structure and writing order of Chinese mathematical Braille,this paper designs a computer mathematical formula input syntax MLIB for the blind by using the command line input mode,which can input the main formulas and symbols learned in middle and primary schools without ambiguity.MLIB input rules are simple and clear,which are in line with the Braille workers' usage habits,and also provide convenience for users to learn mathematical Braille on the computer.Besides,this paper designs a conversion algorithm for the input syntax--MLIB.Firstly,the linear input of mathematical formula is segmented based on maximum matching algorithm,and then it is extracted according to recursion,template matching and stack operation,after which the mathematical formula is converted into Math ML content code.(2)Research on conversion method from Math ML content to Braille formula based on identifierThis paper studies and analyzes the writing rules of Chinese mathematical Braille,and classifies the information that needs to be added or omitted in Braille.According to the analysis results,the concept of structure identifier and semantic identifier is proposed,and a general conversion method based on the concept of identifier is designed.This method parses Math ML content file through recursive call of template,adds bracket based on structure identifier,and generates Braille ASCII code by mapping.(3)Designed and implemented a transform system from mathematics formulas to brailleThis paper applies the designed algorithm to Math2 Braille,which is a conversion system from mathematical formula to Braille formula,and realizes the function of mathematical formula from linear input to Braille output.In this paper,the input range and conversion accuracy of Math2 Braille are tested.The results show that the system can input more than 90% of the mathematical formulas learned in middle and primary schools,and the comprehensive conversion accuracy reaches 96.2%,which can meet the learning needs of Chinese mathematical Braille and the teaching needs of special education in senior high school and below.The system has been used as a translation tool by Chinese Braille Press and The Braille Online Platform of China to serve the visually impaired and Braille workers.
