Our marine seismic exploration is stepping from shallow targets to middle and deep ones. The seismic data from middle and deep parts have the feathers of low energy of signal, narrow bandwidth, limited offsets, low S/N ratio, blurred image of faults, complex multiples and so on,so the image of structures and the characterization of reservoir can't meet the requirements of exploration and exploitation.More and more complex reservoir exploration needs new seismic acquisition and processing technologies and how to improve the image quality and precision of complex reservoir is the key point.Seismic data acquisition is the base of structure imaging and reservoir characterization. For the exploration difficulties of marine China, the wide-azimuth acquisition designing methods and advanced illumination techniques are combined to improve the raw data quality.Using the optimized acquisition parameter to acquire data from the targeted area, then the data are compared with the vantage data to guide the following wide-azimuth data acquisition design. The final goal is to enhance the reflection information and to improve the illumination and imaging precision which is the base for further complex reservoir characterization.According to the characteristics of wide-azimuth data, the specific processing techniques are used to make full use of its potential. In this paper, the following acquisition and processing techniques are discussed in detail. It mainly includes the width-azimuth illumination techniques, offset vector tail division,5D interpolation, demultiple in 3D Radon domain, anisotropic correction techniques and so on.Based on the research of wide-azimuth acquisition and processing techniques, some new seismic exploration techniques are developed to make a distribution to our marine oil and gas exploration and exploitation.
