Based on previous studies on the life history and the growth of moon jellyfish and taking the experimental and observational data as reference,we used the “targeting method” to calibrate the energy budget parameters and found the individual growth equation applicable to Aurelia sp.1 in the Bohai and Yellow Seas.Based on that,using temperature,prey and current provided by ROMS(Regional Ocean Modelling System)+ Co Si NE(Carbon,Silicone and Nitrogen Ecosystem)as the background data,we established a population dynamic model of Aurelia sp.1 in the Bohai and Yellow Seas for the first time in China,which emphasizes the individual difference and the spatial heterogeneity.Temperature is the judging condition of the strobilation of Aurelia sp.1 in the model and the jellyfish could be transported at the surface with the current.Based on the model,we simulated and analyzed the seasonal and interannual variation population dynamics of Aurelia sp.1 in the Bohai and Yellow Seas.By discussing the effect of current,temperature and prey on the number and the population biomass distribution and variation of Aurelia sp.1 in Bohai and Yellow Seas,we obtained the main conclusions as follows:(1)Aurelia sp.1 in the south appeared earlier than in the north,the number and the biomass of Aurelia sp.1 are mainly distributed in the Bohai Sea and the northern Yellow Sea,and their individual bell presents the distribution characteristic of “Southern smaller Northern bigger”.Aurelia sp.1 of the Bohai and Yellow Seas begin to split in April and grow rapidly in May and June,their biomass will reached the peak in July and decrease in August and September;(2)The interannual variation of the population biomass of Aurelia sp.1 in the Bohai and Yellow Seas between 2011 and 2017 are obvious,and the population biomass of Aurelia sp.1 in 2017 is about twice in 2013;(3)Temperature is the key factor of the population biomass of Aurelia sp.1,it determines the number and the population biomass: the duration of suitable strobilation temperature determines the number of Aurelia sp.1,and lower temperature in the suitable temperature range is beneficial to the growth of Aurelia sp.1,and the duration of suitable temperature of growth determines Aurelia sp.1 biomass;(4)Prey plays an important role in regulating the interannual variation in the population biomass of Aurelia sp.1,the greater the concentration of prey,the larger the population biomass of Aurelia sp.1 in the Bohai and Yellow Seas;(5)The current and the tidal front control the spatial distribution of Aurelia sp.1,and have a regulating effect on the variation of population biomass.In addition,we attempted to establish the statistical relationship between the individual biomass,the number of Aurelia sp.1 and the key factor to provide a reference for predicting the population biomass of Aurelia sp.1 in the Bohai and Yellow Seas.
