With the rapid development of modern industry, the function of the systems is becoming more and more complex, more automated.Once the system fails,it will cause a variety of losses. Moreover,in the process of system operation, due to wear, fatigue, and aging of the system, the reliability and safety of the system are gradually reduced.Hence, how to keep the system running normally is very significant. In the system's life, the optimal allocation and reasonable maintenance of the system can greatly enhance the stability and safety of the system. This article mainly studies the linear sliding window system(Sliding Window System,SWS).It is a universal model in the territory of reliability and extensively applied in power systems, quality control, and industrial systems, and has greatly practical value. On the base of the existed literature, firstly, this article concisely presents the k-out-of-n Sliding Window Systems;secondly, explores the element allocation of the k/n Sliding Window Systems,Constructing the optimal allocation and maintenance of multi-state elements in Linear Sliding Window Systems;then, using optimimal technique —Genetic Algorithm,Simulated Annealing Algorithm and Particle Swarm Algorithm to obtain the elementt allocation and maintenance strategy of k/n Sliding Window Systems. At the same time, this article also compare the advantages and disadvantages of the three algorithms in solving the optimization problem. Finally, numerical experiments are used to explore the optimal proposal of element allocation and maintenance strategy of k/n Sliding Window Systems.Experimental results show that it is important to take the joint element allocation and maintenance into account,to improve the reliability of the k/n Sliding Window Systems. This article provide some technical references for the development of reliability evaluation and optimization mathods of multi-state systems.
