Most of the fungi in Steraceae can cause white rot and they play an important role in the ecosystem. However, the current taxonomic study of this family is neither deep nor clear. In view of this,we first summarized the research progress, research materials and methods of the family, and then combined the traditional morphological classification with phylogenic analysis method to perform experiments. The number of specimens studied in this paper were more than 100,which were collected from Vietnam and Fujian,Jiangxi,Guizhou,Yunnan,Hainan,Anhui,Hunan,Guangxi,Taiwan in China.ITS and n LSU sequences were used to construct phylogenetic tree of several genera of the family,including96 sequences of 66 species, and a reasonable classification system of the family was established.Three new genera were suggested as follows: Acanthostereum S.H.He & Nakasone,Confertotrama Nakasone & S.H.He and Gelatinostereum S.H.He,S.L.Liu & Y.C.Dai;Meanwhile,11 new species were identified by the study as: Acanthostereum brunneum S.H.He & Y.F.Cao,A.effusum S.H.He & Y.F.Cao,Aleurodiscus globisporus S.H.He & Y.F.Cao,A.subcerussatus S.H.He & Y.F.Cao,Gelatinostereum phlebioides S.H.He,S.L.Liu & Y.C.Dai,Gloeocystidiopsis shenghuai S.H.He& Y.F.Cao,Stereum hainanensis S.H.He & Y.F.Cao,S.rhododendri S.H.He & Y.F.Cao,S.tropicum S.H.He & Y.F.Cao,S.vietnamensis S.H.He & Y.F.Cao and Xylobolus austrosinensis S.H.He & Y.F.Cao.In addition, there were 8 new combinations being proposed: Acanthostereum chinensis(Pilát)S.H.He & Nakasone,A.wakullum(Burds.,Nakasone & G.W.Freeman)S.H.He & Nakasone,Confertotrama aspera(Hjortstam)Nakasone & S.H.He,C.macrospora(Sheng H.Wu)Nakasone &S.H.He,C.rajchenbergii(Gorjón & Hallenb.)Nakasone & S.H.He,C.rugulosa(Berk.& M.A.Curtis)Nakasone & S.H.He,Gloeocystidiopsis ravum(Burt)S.H.He & Y.F.Cao and G.tenuissimus(L.D.Dai& S.H.He)S.H.He & Y.F.Cao.In this thesis, macroscopic and microscopic morphological descriptions and drawings of new species and species not previously described in China were made. The hosts of the species, the distribution areas of the specimens and the differences between the similar species were discussed.A key to the family was also given.
