| Patterns are related to clothing closely,appropriate patterns can play a key role in clothing.It is extremely vital for knitted garments to design pattern because of the particularity of the fabric which restricts the changes of style and shape.With the improvement of people’s aesthetic requirements continually,traditional knitted sweaters pattern can not meet their visual pursuit and psychological need.Fractal pattern,generated by computer,whose generation and change is out of control of human brain and imagination.It could bring unexpected design results to knitted sweaters by applying complex fractal patterns into them.The main contents of the paper are as follows:(1)The paper introduces the fractal theory,studys the characteristics and principle of fractal patterns and develops the software for generating fractal pattern based on recursive algorithm and escape time algorithm by C++ programming language.Thus,a wide variety of fractal patterns generated by different algorithms and parameters are obtained.(2)The paper analyzes the correlation and difference between fractal patterns and traditional sweater patterns.From the symbolic point of view,the correlation is reflected that some fractal patterns can be classified into the traditional sweater patterns,such as dragon-shaped pattern can be considered to the animal patterns of traditional sweater patterns,which indicates that it is feasible to apply the fractal pattern into the knitted sweater.The difference is reflected that some fractal patterns can not be classified into any sorts of the traditional sweater patterns,which indicates that there exsits some certain innovation by applying fractal pattern into sweater patterns.(3)Some representative fractal pattern are introduced into the Stoll-M1 plus pattern design system for jacquard process in Stoll computer flat knitting machine.According to the characteristics of different patterns,the corresponding jacquard weaving process is set up and the actual knitting is carried out in the computer flat knitting machine.Then,the performance of the fabric with plane and three-dimensional effect are analyzed from the aspects of front and the back texture,touching,the density and the thickness of fabric.The results show that the network texture,taking the C curve as an example,possesses the best performance by comparing the performance of three different organizations,such as network organization,sesame-point organization and cross-bar organization.Taking the Julia fractal and Newton iterative fractal as an example show that the wear ability and cost gradually reduces with the increase of needle number by comparing the performance of homogeneous organization: the two-color network and the needle-drawing organization as well as the four-color network and the needle-drawing organization,but for thinner two-color texture,the 1×2 and 1×3 needles texture are not suitable for selection because of the wearability reduces seriously compared to the network and the 1×1 needle texture;and for thicker four-color texture,1×2 and 1×3 punctures have less effect on the wear ability,but the performance of the needle texture with the front and rear coil ratio 1: 1 is better than that of front and rear coil ratio 2:3 needle texture.In stereo effect,the results show that the network turned needle,sesame point turned needle and cross-bar turned needle texture possess better three-dimensional effect while the stereo effect of network 1×1 texture needle texture is not obvious and the patterns of the network turned needle and the network 1×1 turned needle change less but the sesame point turned needle and cross-bar turned needle texture deforme much.(4)Finally,The full forming process of knitting sweater is programmed in the Stoll-M1 plus system.The fractal pattern generated by the recursive algorithm is applied to the knitted sweater after rearranging and the fractal pattern generated by the escape time algorithm is applied to the knitted sweater with the form of partial,single and full flowers with optimal process. |
