Research And Practice Of Design Of Xiang Embroidery Innovative Products Based On Mawangdui Han Tomb Patterns

This subject focuses on the Xiang embroidery,one of China’s intangible cultural heritage.Xiang embroidery,with a brilliant history,is especially noted for the unearthed embroidery products from Mawangdui Han Tomb of Han Dynasty.In 2006,Xiang Embroidery was listed into the first national intangible cultural heritage,which fully makes known its highly developed skills and craft and expands its prospect in scientific research.By taking Mawangdui embroidery patterns as the design object,this project,from a non-legacy perspective,makes an exploration in the value of Mawangdui embroidery patterns and furthermore,innovates the designing methods of Xiang embroidery.In the first stage,through literature review,the background of topic are briefly illustrated,and then the comprehensive analysis,at home and abroad,has been accomplished on the research and application of the embroidery patterns of Xiang embroidery and that at Mawangdui.Also,it not only summarizes the origin and development of the embroidery patterns of Mawangdui and its pr ocess,but also sorts out its designing concepts and methods.In the second stage,based on the field survey,the existing application in Mawangdui embroidery pattern and the evolution of creative products in Xiang embroidery are investigated.Meanwhile,t he analysis of the limits of the current embroidery design application contributes to a better way to innovate Mawangdui embroidery design.In the last stage,with the extraction and simplification of Mawangdui embroidery pattern,it is under discussion ab out its application to the creative design of Xiang embroidery.In addition,popular trends are shown up through intention Kanban and shape transformation is attained by combining the features of shape and intention.Along with the original Mawangdui embro idery in product designing and modern aesthetic needs,the final goal is to design practical,inherited and innovative Xiang embroidery creative luggage products.In the end,owing to the manufacture of the real object,“Su Yi”,the ultimate task of the subject is achieved,which justifies the practicality of such research.The design of the “Su Yi” is a series of Xiang embroidery creative luggage products completed after designing pratices For one thing,“live inheritance” can be realized through innovative transformation of Mawangdui embroidery patterns and application design in combination with innovative products of Xiang embroidery.For another,further development and inheritage can be obtained through the systematic theoretical support for the innovat ion and development of modern luggage design.And at the same time,new thinking and problem-solving solutions have been proposed for all endangered handicraft innovation transformations.
