Study On The Application Of South Hunan Wood Carving In Modern Lighting Design

As a traditional Chinese handicraft,wood carving is a part of Chinese traditional culture.As one of the traditional wood carving techniques in China,southern Hunan wood carving embodies its unique origami creation technique and appearance form from the artistic point of view,and contains profound mathematical and geometric laws from the technical point of view,reflecting the unification of art and technology,and the design idea of emphasizing both form and function.To the southern Hunan wood carvings enough extended application range.Lamps and lanterns of lighting appliance,as an essential part of People’s Daily life,in people’s life quality constantly in the process of the commission,people’s practical with adornment sex to it as the household articles for use requirement is high,the southern hunan woodcarving is used in the design of the lamps and lanterns,can not only enrich the design language of lamps and lanterns,bring its decorative pattern breakthrough,also at the same time of optimizing the structure and function of lamps and lanterns,to adapt to the modern industrialized mass production.Based on the wood carving technique in southern Hunan,this paper studies its application in lamp design.This paper is divided into the following parts:The first part analyzes the wood carving technology in southern Hunan from the historical inheritance,work form,technical characteristics,symbol language,molding structure and other characteristics,and summarizes and analyzes the design elements of lamps from the shape,structure,the form and structure of different light sources.The second part,through the comparison and analysis of southern Hunan wood carving technique and other carving techniques,and the analysis of the correlation between southern Hunan wood carving technique and lamps,elaborated the feasibility of southern Hunan wood carving as a design technique and production technique in the design and design of lamps.The third part,starting from the structure,form and material of southern Hunan wood carving,analyzes the advantages of the combination of southern Hunan wood carving and lighting design.On the basis of the previous research,the design principles that should be followed and utilized in the combination of the two are extracted.Based on the characteristics of the craft,structure and form of wood carving in southern Hunan,the basic design methods based on simplification of techniques,connection structure and transformation of form are summarized.In the fourth part,under the guidance of the design principles and methods summarized and refined,the three carving works of "Fu","Lu" and "Xi" in the wood carving of southern Hunan are selected as the design prototypes,and the corresponding three series of lamps are designed.The whole design process is divided into three steps:original engraving process analysis,process improvement and design scheme.The combination of southern Hunan wood carving and modern lamps and lanterns design makes the lamps and lanterns design and southern Hunan wood carving developed.As for lamps and lanterns,it can enrich the appearance design language of lamps and lanterns,innovate the connection structure and production process of lamps and lanterns,and improve the use experience of lamps and lanterns.For southern Hunan wood carving,the dissemination scope of southern Hunan wood carving is expanded,so that this intangible cultural heritage technology,with lamps as the carrier,enters People’s Daily life,and gets better inheritance and development.
