Dephosphorization is one of the important tasks in the steelmaking process.In order to achieve better dephosphorization effect and further reduce production cost,the effect of single slag and remaining slag method on dephosphorization and smelting of Guofeng 120t converter were comprehensively studied in this paper.In view of the splash accidents easily caused by the remaining slag method,the reasons for the splashing accident were analyzed,and targeted solutions were proposed.Under the trial condition of this paper,the important conclusions are as follows:(1)The average dephosphorization rate of the remaining slag method is 2.44%higher than that of the single slag method,and the success rate of one hitting aim carbon content by remaining slag method is 6.7%higher than that of the single slag method.(2)Compared with the single slag method,the lime,steel material,magnesium balls and ore of average consumption by remaining slag method is reduced by 3.71 kg/t,2.59kg/t,0.58kg/t,and 1.74kg/t,respectively.Meanwhile,the average consumption of dolomite is increased by 2.08kg/t.And the average splashing rate is increased by 7%.(3)When w[Si]of molten iron is in 0.20%-0.60%range,it is suitable for the remaining slag operation.While w[Si]of molten iron is higher than 0.60%,the remaining slag operation is no longer applicable.(4)By effectively controlling the temperature,composition and viscosity of slag,combined with the optimization of the slag splashing furnace and hot metal charged,it is possible to solve the difficulty in opening and blowing of the converter,and at the same time prevent the splashing accident during remaining slag process.(5)Through optimization and adjustment of the oxygen gun position,slag formation route and feeding system,the splashing accident in converter smelting process can be effectively controlled.
