In recent years,the research on the mechanical problems of multilayer composite plates has been a hot topic in the field of modern military and national defense.The research on the impact resistance of multi-layer composite structure is the main research direction of composite armor.The research on the impact resistance of the whole and each layer of multilayer composite plate becomes an important direction worthy of discussion.In this paper,the impact resistance of two kinds of multilayer composite plates is studied by theoretical demonstration,experiment and numerical simulation(1)Based on the energy theory,the impact resistance theoretical model of multilayer composite plate is established,and the ratio analysis of multilayer composite plate is explored and analyzed.(2)According to the experimental scheme,the raw materials of the test piece were selected,and two kinds of multilayer composite plates were made of ceramic /fiber / foam aluminum composite board and ceramic / fiber / polyurethane composite board by vacuum assisted resin infusion process.(3)The penetration experiment of multi-layer composite plate was carried out,and the impact resistance performance of multi-layer composite plate under different velocity impact was studied.The initial velocity and residual velocity of the projectile,as well as the damage diagram of the cross section,the damage area of the back plate and the damage energy absorption characteristics of the composite plate are obtained by using laser velocimetry device and oscilloscope.The damage mechanism and failure mode of the two kinds of composite plates are analyzed.(4)Using LS-DYNA finite element simulation software,the finite element model of bullet penetrating into multilayer composite plate is established.The correctness of simulation is verified by comparing the damage section of composite plate with the simulation damage section,and comparing the residual velocity of experimental projectile with that of simulation.Through the analysis and discussion of the simulation results,the failure mode,deformation process,energy absorption effect and impact time of the two kinds of multi-layer composite plates in the penetration process are obtained.In the process of penetration,the ceramic layer plays a major role in the kinetic energy consumption of the projectile,and the energy absorption layer plays a major role in the penetration time of the composite plate.The longer the penetration time is,the more energy is absorbed,which improves the impact resistance of the multilayer composite plate.
