| As the most important material for children’s games,toys have gradually gained people’s attention.With the development of material and cultural needs and the continuous updating of educational concepts,people’s requirements for children’s toys are getting higher and higher.The particularity of children’s toy users makes the design of children’s toys different from other product designs.How to design toys that are more suitable for children is a challenge in the field of children’s toy design.This article first investigates and analyzes the existing children’s educational toy market,and summarizes the design characteristics of children’s toys at the emerging stage: full use,age-appropriateness,participation,and safety.Then use child development psychology as the basic product theory,combined with user questionnaire surveys,analyze user positioning and user characteristics,and propose a children’s toy design suitable for children’s physical,cognitive,emotional and social development characteristics.Next,the idea of modular design is proposed to meet user needs,and the advantages of modular design in the design of children’s educational toys are analyzed with examples.Then the playability of toys is discussed,and the analysis shows that toys that can help children release their suppressed desires,gain a sense of accomplishment and social identity are more playable.Due to its uncertainty of structure,diversity of gameplay,higher age-appropriateness and higher participation,the modular design method can appropriately improve the playability of toys.Combining the theory of child developmental psychology,the design characteristics of children’s educational toys are proposed from three levels of form,structure and function,and a set of design methods of children’s educational toys are proposed from the three links of user research,design expression,production and sales.Finally,this research applies the theory to practice,puts forward the "Easy-Brick" children’s educational toy design plan,and design a mobile terminal control APP interface and the shape of products.This research combines the theory of child developmental psychology and modular design concept,studies the design of children’s educational toys,and proposes a set of design features and methods based on developmental psychology that can enhance the playability of toys.The research results provide academic and applicatory recommendation for the design method of children’s educational toys,and provide new thoughts for the progress of children’s toy industry. |
