Furniture Design From The Perspective Of Sustainable Thoughts Of Chinese Traditional Culture

Since the 1860 s,excessive human activities have led to environmental pollution,resource shortages,and global ecological destruction.In the field of design,design has gradually become a tool for capital marketing.Disposable products,plastic products,etc.exacerbate the contradiction between human needs and the resource environment.In 1987,the concept of sustainable development put forward by the United Nations became the dominant idea of alleviating the relationship between human beings and nature.The ideas of “Nature and Humanity” and “Taoism follows nature” in China’s traditional culture are still of guiding significance to modern thought.This article will start from the sustainable idea in traditional Chinese culture,explore the sustainable development of modern furniture design under the traditional sustainable idea,and provide new ideas for modern furniture design by analyzing the relationship between traditional culture,sustainable development and furniture design.Through the analysis of domestic and foreign sustainable development ideas and national policies,the existing research on sustainable development ideas and sustainable furniture design in traditional Chinese culture has been investigated,and sustainable thinking in traditional Chinese culture has been carried out innovatively summarize the five concepts of "Nature and Humanity","Using wisely","love of all people and all things","things are not endless",and "Taoism follows nature".And analyze the research results of social scholars and the corresponding laws and regulations promulgated by the state,explore the combination of traditional Chinese sustainable thinking and modern furniture sustainable design,and put forward the concept and influencing factors of furniture design under China’s traditional sustainable development thought.According to background analysis and concept research,the whole life cycle method is used to construct the framework of furniture design mode under the influence of traditional Chinese sustainable thinking,that is,furniture design needs to be considered and treated in the four stages of material selection,design scheme,production and manufacturing,and waste disposal under the influence of traditional sustainable thinking.And design two furniture schemes,"accompanying" detachable desks and chairs and "water drops" intelligent desks,which confirm the feasibility of the furniture design model framework under the traditional sustainable thinking of China.Furniture design model framework based on traditional Chinese sustainable thought can make designers think about the influence factors of sustainable on furniture systematically,so as to provide new ideas for design.The purpose of sustainable concept development is to implant the concept of harmonious coexistence between man and nature into the national consciousness and integrate the concept of sustainable concept into daily life.In this process,sustainable furniture design plays a role in guiding people’s consumption direction and promoting the development of sustainable concept.Only when furniture designers study and comprehend the traditional sustainable thought of China can they consider the influencing factors more systematically in the process of furniture design.
