Research On The Application Of Traditional Applique In Modern Hippie Style Clothing

Appliqué is a kind of traditional handicraft.In its early stage,appliqué only had the function of simply sewing clothes.With the development of history,appliqué has developed into an art form bearing ethnic culture and emotion until today.Hippie style clothing came into being in the 1960s.At the beginning,hippie style clothing showed the characteristics of "loose and slovenly".However,with the change of times,hippie style clothing has been constantly integrating new elements in its development process with strong inclusiveness,gradually forming the "new hippie style" with the characteristics of The Times.It is this fusion that makes hippie style clothing enduring and attracting attention.Traditional Appliqué and hippie style clothing are consistent in advocating nature,paying attention to handmade decoration and the use of old things.This paper mainly studies the innovative application methods of traditional fabric embroidery in modern hippie style clothing from the three concepts of the integration of Eastern and Western cultures,the inheritance of traditional handicrafts and the practice of sustainable fashion.This paper analyzes the definition,history,classification,design elements of traditional appliqué,as well as the historical background,development changes and style characteristics of hippie style clothing one by one,expounds the commonness and connection between the two,and explores the feasibility of the application of traditional appliqué in modern hippie style clothing.Through the analysis of the application cases of appliqué in modern hippie style clothing,the principles and methods of the application of traditional appliqué in modern hippie style clothing were summarized.On this basis,it further explores the innovative methods of the application of traditional appliqué in modern hippie style clothing,and studies its modern innovation methods from the four aspects of pattern shape design,color matching,material selection and production technology of traditional appliqué,and finally carries out practice test in the form of graduation design creation.
