Titanium alloy materials have high heat resistance,corrosion resistance,high specific strength and good toughness,and have been widely used in aerospace,medical,chemical,pressure vessel manufacturing and other fields.Titanium alloys have poor thermal conductivity,serious work hardening,rapid tool wear during cutting,poor surface quality of workpieces,and poor machinability.This is especially true of high-strength titanium alloys as difficult-to-process materials.In this paper,simulation and experimental research on the cutting performance of Ti-555 Q new high-strength titanium alloy are carried out.The main research work and conclusions are as follows:(1)Research and analysis of relevant research status at home and abroad,and proposed to study the cutting performance of Ti-555 Q new high-strength titanium alloy from four aspects of cutting force,tool wear,surface quality and chip morphology,and based on this,Corresponding cutting experiments are designed.(2)Using single factor experiment method and orthogonal experiment method,the influence of the changes of the three elements of cutting on the cutting performance of Ti-555 Q was studied.Experiments show that when cutting Ti-555 Q,the amount of back tool has the greatest impact on the cutting force;the tool wear is serious,and the tool durability is low;the surface roughness of the workpiece has a large numerical value,and the feed rate has the greatest impact on it;the cutting process is extremely It is easy to form jagged chips,and the degree of jaggedness is high.(3)Using different coating tools YBC252 and TH1000 to turn Ti-555 Q and TC4,respectively,the surface morphology and roughness of the two workpieces under different coating tools were studied,and the tool failure and durability were analyzed.The results show that the surface quality processed by TH1000 tool is better,and its durability is also higher.(4)Four different cutting fluids were used to turn Ti-555 Q respectively,and the influence of different cutting fluids on its cutting force and chip morphology was studied.The results show that:the use of emulsified oil ST20 has the best cutting effect,the cutting force is small during the cutting process,and the degree of chip sawtooth is low.(5)The simulation cutting experiment was established with Abaqus simulation software as the platform,and the influence of cutting speed on cutting temperature and surface residual stress was studied.The results show that under low-speed cutting conditions,the cutting temperature increases as the speed increases;the surface residual stress increases with the increase of speed.
