Study On The Application Of The Hutong Lion Puppet Elements Of Ningde City In Fashion Design

With the incessant development of the Internet industry,information on fashion trends is spreading with acceleration.As a result,the phenomenon of homogeneity is becoming more and more prevalent in the clothing industry.Local features characteristics of our culture are entering into the territory of commonality.In recent years,our country has doubled efforts in the preservation of intangible cultural heritage,which has led to a closer relationship between traditional culture and modern culture.As China gains ever more prominence on the global stage,Chinese elements are becoming more and more present in the international fashion sector.Traditional Chinese culture has also become a source of inspiration for influential street fashion brands across the globe.This is the reason local designers of our country need to protect and promote even more our magnificent traditional culture,in the meanwhile,gain profound knowledge of its cultural richness.As a form of traditional folk art performance,lion puppet show,a heritage of the town named Huotong has a certain extent value of research.Both its outward artistic form and its inner spirit could lend great richness to fashion designs in other words,it deserves the better investigation and observation of our modern generations.Based on first-hand materials gathered by field studies,the current study proposes to conduct investigations and fulfill objectives as follows: firstly,comb through and the history of Huotong lion puppet shown and the elements of traditional culture relates to it;secondly,analyze the cultural,artistic and technical aspects of the Huotong lion puppet show,then,combining the analysis with knowledge on the current development of current fashion and the characteristics of the development,investigate on the feasibility of using features of the lion puppet shown in the design of fashion clothes;thirdly,conduct a practical inquiry in response to the theme-"youth and dream" of 2019 Qingdao Youth International Fashion Designers Competition.Using streetwear as a carrier,the intangible cultural heritage of Huotong lion puppet show would be fused into the design of modern streetwear.To be more precisly,fabrics would be deconstructed and rearranged by means of secondary reconstruction such as pleating and stacking.The final design carries the wish of the better protection and promotion of the traditional lion puppet culture of China in the same time,to bring some new blood into the fashion clothes in the future development.
