Metallic glass is a kind of amorphous alloy obtained by rapid condensation technology to avoid melt crystallization.Due to its excellent mechanical properties,metallic glass has a broad application prospect in high-end manufacturing fields.Because of its unique physical properties,metallic glass is usually regarded as a typical refractory material.At present,its conventional cutting speed is generally 18-30 m/min,and there are many problems such as low processing efficiency,serious tool wear,large cutting force fluctuation and so on.High-speed cutting technology is suitable for the cutting of hard-to-machine materials,and metallic glass' s plastic enhancement at high temperature,may be beneficial to cutting.In this paper,the influence of cutting speed on milling force,chip morphology and surface roughness in Vit1 metal glass milling process under high speed cutting conditions was explored by combining simulation and experiment to determine the most suitable cutting speed range for Vit1 metal glass milling process and provide reference for high speed cutting of metal glass.The main research contents of this paper include:(1)Vit1 metal glass high speed cutting simulation research: At present,there are few researches related to Vit1 cutting simulation.In this paper,based on previous research results,a simulation model of Vit1 metal glass high-speed cutting was established,and a two-dimensional orthogonal high-speed cutting simulation test was carried out.Combining the simulation results with the experimental results,the influence of cutting speed on cutting temperature and cutting force in Vit1 metal glass high-speed cutting process was analyzed.(2)Experimental Study on Vit1 Metal Glass High-speed Milling Process: In order to determine the influence of cutting speed on Vit1 milling process,the single-factor experiment method was adopted to design and carry out Vit1 metal glass high-speed milling experiment on DMU60 five-axis precision machining center.The effects of cutting speed on milling force,machined surface roughness and tool wear in Vit1 high speed milling were obtained,and the optimal cutting speed range for Vit1 milling was determined.Based on the experimental results,an empirical model of Vit1 metal glass milling force with multiple linear regression equation as the core was established,and experiments were carried out to verify the accuracy of the prediction results.(3)The microstructures and macromorphology of Vit1 metal glass chips obtained at different cutting speeds in high speed milling experiment were analyzed.Based on this,the formation of adiabatic shear band,plastic shear slip and material removal mechanism in VIT1 cutting were preliminarily investigated.
