Millable polyurethane elastomer(MPUE)is rising rapidly in the field of polyurethane elastomer with unique using performance and excellent processing performance.Its excellent mechanical properties,wear resistance,low temperature resistance,damping performance,oil resistance,chemical corrosion resistance,thermal oxygen aging resistance make MPUE popular in many fields,such as automobile industry,oil and mining industry,military field,machinery manufacturing,daily commodities and so on.However,the domestic research on MPUE is not thorough,and some of its drawbacks in practical application have not been effectively solved.Therefore,it is of great significance to conduct deep research on various properties of MPUE.In this article,we mainly discuss the synthesis and research on properties of MPUE based on PTMG.We analyze the factors affecting properties of MPUE in the aspects of molecular structure and condensed state structure.Specifically,we study the factors affecting comprehensive mechanical properties,low temperature resistance,damping performance,compression fatigue resistance,thermal oxygen aging resistance of MPUE in terms of soft segment structure,hard segment structure,hard segment content,and mixing systems.The study found:(1)The types of polyols are changed: The mechanical strength and wear resistance of MPUE with polyester are obviously higher than that with polyether,but the resilience and elongation at break of MPUE with polyester are worse.By comprehensive comparison,MPUE based on PTMG has excellent comprehensive mechanical properties,excellent low temperature resistance,outstanding compression fatigue resistance,good damping performance and good thermal oxygen aging resistance.Change the relative molecular weight of polyols: The mechanical strength of MPUE with polyester increases with increasing relative molecular weight of polyols,while the mechanical strength of MPUE with polyether decreases with the increase of relative molecular weight of polyols.Whatever kind of polyols is used,with increasing relative molecular weight of polyols,the low temperature resistance and compression fatigue resistance of MPUE increases,while the damping performance and thermal oxygen aging resistance of MPUE decreases.In general,when the relative molecular weight of PTMG is 1000,the comprehensive performance of MPUE is the highest.(2)The types of isocyanate are changed: The types of isocyanate have little effect on the low temperature resistance of MPUE.By comprehensive comparison,MPUE based on MDI-100 has outstanding mechanical properties,excellent damping performance and good thermal oxygen aging resistance,but its compression fatigue resistance is poor.Change the types of chain extender: The types of chain extender have little effect on the low temperature resistance of MPUE.The MPUE with?-allyl glycerol ether has the highest mechanical properties,the best damping performance,good compression fatigue resistance and great thermal oxygen aging resistance.(3)The hard segment content is changed: In a certain range,with increasing hard segment content,the hardness,tensile strength,tear strength,wear resistance and modulus of MPUE increase gradually,while the resilience and elongation at break decrease,and the compression set decreases.With the increase of hard segment content,the glass transition temperature of MPUE gradually increases,the low temperature resistance gradually decreases,the peak value of the loss factor gradually decreases,the peak temperature gradually increases,the peak gradually widens,the damping performance is enhanced,the compression fatigue resistance gradually decreases,while the thermal oxygen aging resistance gradually increases.(4)The curing system is changed: Compared with peroxide curing system,the tensile strength,tear strength,elongation at break and resilience of MPUE with sulfur curing system are obviously higher,but the wear resistance is worse.In the sulfur curing system,when the dosage of M,DM,NH-2 and S are respectively 2parts,3 parts,2 parts and 2 parts,the comprehensive mechanical properties of MPUE were the best.In the peroxide curing system,the comprehensive mechanical properties of MPUE with TAIC as the secondary crosslinker are the best.When the dosage of TAIC and DCP are both 1 part,MPUE has the best comprehensive mechanical properties.(5)The reinforcing system is changed: The tensile strength,modulus and resilience of MPUE reinforced by carbon black are higher,while the elongation at break,tear strength and wear resistance of MPUE reinforced by white carbon black are better.In the carbon black reinforcing system,N330 has the best reinforcing effect,and when its dosage is 30 parts,MPUE has the best comprehensive mechanical properties.In the white carbon black reinforcing system,with increasing dosage of white carbon black,the tensile strength,wear resistance and resilience of MPUE decrease gradually,while the tear strength and elongation at break increase gradually.(6)The antiaging system is changed: MPUE with quinoline antiager has the higher mechanical strength,while MPUE with p-phenylenediamine antiager has the higher elongation at break and resilience.The antiaging effect of p-phenylenediamine antiager is obviously better than that of quinoline antiager,and the MPUE with p-phenylenediamine antiager has the better thermal oxygen aging resistance.
