Ti6Al4V(TC4)is widely used in aerospace,ships,weapons equipment,medical instruments and decorative accessories area with good plasticity,good thermal strength,strong corrosion resistance and simple production process.However,the cutting temperature is high when the high-speed cutting,prone to work harden phenomenon and serious bonding,so that the tool wear faster,which is obviously unfavorable for complex processing requirements.At present,coating tool is an important way to machining titanium alloy.But under the condition of high speed,high heat and large wear,the tool quickly reaches the failure standard increases the processing cost and reduces the processing efficiency.In this paper,the tool surface integrity evolution and wear evolution during high speed cutting TC4 are studied by using Ti Al N coated carbide tool.Surface integrity is includes surface morphology,surface roughness,surface hardness and surface residual stress.The evolution of tool surface integrity is analyzed by using different surface treatment techniques,and the tool life in high speed cutting was compared.The influence of tool surface integrity on tool wear resistance is analyzed.Firstly,the simulation model of the tool-workpiece is established.TC4 cutting is carried out by WC carbide tool,Ti Al N carbide coated tool and Ti N/Al2O3/Ti N carbide coated tool respectively.The stress field,temperature field,cutting force,chip morphology and tool wear life during cutting are studied,and the performance of the tool is analyzed.It is found that the Ti Al N coated tool had the best performance and the longest life during TC4 cutting.Secondly,a variety of surface treatment technologies,including mechanical polishing,chemical mechanical polishing,cryogenic treatment,thermal treatment and micro-blasting surface treatment technology,the tool surface integrity is studied.The influence of different surface treatment parameters on the surface integrity of coated tool is analyzed,and the life of different surface treatment tools,tool wear performance and wear mechanism are studied.The results show that all surface treatments can effectively improve the surface integrity of the tool and prolong the tool life.The improvement degree of micro-sandblasting surface treatment is the largest.Thirdly,the surface integrity and tool wear evolution of untreated and treated tools in the process of high speed cutting are studied.The results show that the tools performance after treatment is good,and the surface integrity evolution is closely related to the tool wear evolution,and the surface integrity change is consistent with the tool wear stages.Finally,high speed cutting experiments and high speed friction and wear are carried out to analyze the influence of coating tool surface integrity on tool wear resistance,cutting temperature,cutting force and chip.The results show that good surface integrity can effectively improve the wear resistance of the coated tool and reduce the cutting temperature and cutting force.In order to improve the surface integrity of coated tools,improve tool wear resistance,reduce tool wear,extend tool life,and achieve efficient and low-cost processing,the surface treatment technology of tools is of great significance.
