| Ball point pens have been widely loved by consumers since they came out.Ink,as an important writing medium for ball pens, has been greatly innovated and developed in recent years. It has the characteristics of various systems and various types. At present, inks containing thickening systems have application performance problems such as not fluent in writing, ink accumulation, and poor stability during application.Ink type and pen tip structure are two key factors affecting its application performance.Since the viscosity, viscoelasticity and thixotropy of the ink containing thickening system during the application process are easy to change significantly with the external environment(stress, strain, temperature, humidity, etc.),it shows different application properties. Therefore, for inks containing thickening systems, the nature of the ink has a greater impact on its application performance.Traditional application performance investigations are time-consuming,costly,and are not conducive to the optimization of ink formulations. Therefore,a new technology is sought to guide ink formulations.Optimizing and improving the quality of ink is an urgent problem in the pen industry. This article intends to design related experiments to investigate the rheological properties of inks from the perspective of rheology, and study the rheological properties of inks containing thickening systems currently in use.Through the objective analysis of the ink rheological map, combined with the actual application performance of the ink,its structure, properties and functionality are analyzed, and the writing performance and stability of the ink are evaluated.Establish a set of rapid evaluation methods for the application performance of inks containing thickening systems for the pen industry.Chapter 1 of the paper describes the current development of ball point pens and inks in the market, the development status of domestic inks, and the challenges faced by the domestic pen industry.Chapter 2 of the thesis mainly describes the rheological study of the writing performance of inks containing thickening systems.Through the rheological properties of inks(experiments include: shear thinning, flow curve fitting, amplitude scanning, frequency scanning, thixotropy Recovery)to conduct research, use characteristic rheological parameters to characterize the application performance of the ink,and evaluate the writing performance of the ink.The specific evaluation method is as follows: Shear thinning index N represents the shear thinning ability of ink from low shear rate to high shear rate. The larger the value of N,the stronger the shear thinning ability. The consistency coefficient K represents the smoothness of ink writing, the smaller the K value, the higher the smoothness. The non-Newtonian index n represents the fluency of ink writing, the smaller the value of n,the higher the fluency. The loss coefficient tanδ characterizes the fluidity of the ink system. The greater the tanδ value at low frequencies, the stronger the fluidity of the ink system under static conditions, and the more likely the refill will cause static ink leakage. The weaker the thixotropic recovery ability of the ink system, the slower the construction of the ink viscosity system after the shearing stops, and the easier it is to form ink blobbing during writing.Chapter 3 of the paper mainly describes the rheological study of the stability of inks containing thickening systems.Based on the principle of time-temperature equivalence, high and low temperature cycle experiments are designed.By evaluating the change of the elastic modulus G’ of the ink system compared to the initial G’ after multiple heating cycles, the stability of the ink is evaluated. The smaller the change rate, the more stable the ink system and the longer the shelf life.Chapter 4 summarizes the content of the full text and looks forward to the application of rheology in ink quality improvement. In summary, this paper uses rheological analysis technology to study the existing writing inks containing thickening systems, and quickly evaluates their application performance through core rheological parameters. This method not only greatly shortens the test time of traditional application performance, but also assists in the optimization of writing ink formulations containing thickening systems, the development and production of new formulations, etc. The completion of China’s pen industry in the improvement of ink quality from the traditional test to the scientific theoretical guidance, has a greater guiding significance for the healthy and long-term development of the domestic pen industry. |
