Cutting fluids must be used in metal working processes.However,the volatilization,spatter and leakage of cutting fluid will be detrimental to the working environment and personnel health.Electrostatic dry cutting technology is an improvement on traditional metal processing technology.The electrostatic generating device ionizes and ozonizes the air.By contacting the surface of the workpiece with these gases,it achieves the purpose of cooling and lubrication.This improves the quality of the workpiece and reduces the discharge of pollutants.It plays a positive role in promoting the realization of China’s dual carbon goal.This paper presents a dry drilling tapping technology based on eddy current cooling and electrostatic lubrication.By eddy current cooling tool and workpiece surface temperature,ionization on the machining surface to form ozone layer to achieve lubrication.Theoretical calculation,finite element simulation and experimental techniques were used to verify the proposed EDDY-assisted machining method.The specific work is as follows:Firstly,an electrostatic vortex tube structure is proposed based on the analysis of dry cutting principle.It integrates the electrostatic generating device and vortex tube.The drilling surface is lubricated by ozone generated by eddy current cooling and ionization.Secondly,the electrostatic generator is designed and analyzed according to the selected vortex tube,and the needle ring electrode structure and double ring electrode structure are designed for the electrode assembly.The electric field and flow field of the two electrode structures are analyzed by COMSOL simulation software.The simulation results show that the peak field intensity of the needle ring electrode structure is 92% higher than that of the double ring electrode structure,and the electrode structure parameters are determined.Then,the designed electrostatic eddy current drilling and tapping system is analyzed from the aspects of discharge effect,ionization temperature,ozone concentration and so on.The results show that the electric field produced by the tungsten needle ring structure is uniform and stable;The ionization temperature shows that the temperature produced by tungsten needle ring structure is the largest;The ozone concentration measurement results show that when the intake air flow is 20 L / min and the driving voltage is 6k V,The ozone concentration produced by the system reaches the peak value of 34.5ppm.Finally,the drilling and tapping experiment of electrostatic eddy current dry drilling cuttings tapping system is carried out.The results show that the eddy current cooling electrostatic lubrication dry drilling and tapping technology is superior to the pure dry drilling and tapping technology in cutting effect,cooling effect,tool wear and chip morphology.The dry drilling and tapping technology based on eddy current cooling and electrostatic lubrication can be used in the drilling and tapping process of 6 series aluminum.
