Triclosan(TCS)is a broad-spectrum antibacterial drug that is widely used as an additive in personal care and medical antibacterial products. It is ubiquitous in the human body and the environment, has high bioaccumulation and is widely used, and enters the human body through contact and food chain, and thus attracts the attention of researchers.Although TCS has many treatment processes, each has its own shortcomings. In recent years, activation of persulfate to remove organic pollutants in water is considered to be a cost-effective method. This experiment investigated the effect of two different activation methods to activate PMS to remove TCS,namely biochar and its KOH modified material,Cu2+-HCO3-combined system. The experimental results show that the four biochars and their modified materials are not effective in activating PMS.The Cu2+-HCO3-combination system has a good effect, and Cu2+and HCO3-play an important role,it is difficult to activate PMS without one.The effects of PMS concentration,Cu2+concentration,HCO3-concentration,temperature and initial pH on the combined system were also analyzed. The results show that too high or too low concentrations of PMS and HCO3-do not have a good TCS removal effect, and confirm that their optimal values are 1m M and 2 m M,respectively;with the gradual increase of Cu2+concentration,the removal efficiency of TCS also increases, but even a small Cu2+concentration(0.03m M),it is possible to quickly and effectively remove rapid and effective removal of superacid will inhibit the removal of the combined system TCS,the removal rate is only 21.9%.the combined system has good applicability in a wide pH(5-9);TCS removal efficiency increases with temperature(15–35℃).Quenching experiments and EPR analysis showed that SO4,·OH may be used more as an indirect active factor, mainly used to produce 1O2,and 1O2 is more likely to directly affect the degradation of TCS.Intermediate product analysis was carried out and two possible reaction pathways were analyzed;the universality experiment showed that the universality value of the system may be low,and it is only suitable for removing certain organic pollutants.
