| Cyclone separators are devices which use centrifugal force to realize gas-solid separation.With the increasingly serious environmental problems,the performance requirements of cyclone separators for industrial applications are also rising.It is urgent to develop new cyclone separators with excellent performance.Efficiency and pressure drop are two important indicators to evaluate the performance of cyclone separators.However,there is a restriction between efficiency and pressure drop.When efficiency increases,pressure drop increases.In this paper,two new cyclone separators are designed.They are "cyclone separator with separated intake and split-flow exhaust"(referred to as SE type)and "cyclone separator with double intake and split-flow exhaust"(DE type).Compared with the standard PV cyclone separator,the vortex finder,inlet structure,height-diameter ratio and ash hopper structure of the new cyclone separators were optimized.Firstly,in order to verify the separation performance of two new cyclone separators,the comparative tests of SE,DE and standard PV cyclone separators were carried out.The experimental results show that compared with the standard PV cyclone separator,the pressure drop of SE cyclone separator decreases by 52.37% when the separation efficiency is slightly lower,while that of DE cyclone separator reaches 48.31% when the separation efficiency is comparable.The comprehensive performance of the two new cyclones is better.Secondly,the internal flow field distribution of reference PV cyclone separator and new cyclone separator were compared and analyzed,and the reasons of high efficiency and low resistance of new cyclone separator were explained.Compared with the standard PV type,the tangential and axial velocities of new type cyclone separator are greatly reduced,and the interface between inner and outer swirl moves outwards,which reduces the flow resistance loss and prolongs the residence time of particles.Finally,the theoretical calculation methods of pressure drop and efficiency of DE cyclone separator are put forward.According the theory of pressure drop distribution along the way and the flow distribution law in new cyclone separator,the calculation methods of pressure drop in each part of ESD pressure drop model is modified.The pressure drop calculated by the new model meets well with the measured value and the error is less than 5%.According to the separation model theory and the different distribution of particle concentration,the separator is divided into five zones.A new five-zone model is established and the separation efficiency of new-type cyclone separator is calculated.The results show that the new five-zone model has high accuracy. |
