With the gradual improvement of people’s awareness of environmental protection,how to improve the development mode of high energy consumption and high carbon emission of China’s manufacturing industry has become an urgent problem to be solved.As the world’s largest carbon dioxide emitter,China is facing the double pressure of maintaining the development of manufacturing industry and reducing carbon emission at the same time.China can start from improving the carbon emission efficiency of manufacturing industry.Therefore,the main purpose of this paper is to study how to improve the carbon emission efficiency of China’s manufacturing industry.In the first chapter,the background and significance of the research on carbon emission efficiency of China’s manufacturing industry are described,and the relevant research status at home and abroad are summarized.Secondly,in the second chapter,the related concepts and theories are introduced.The third chapter mainly analyzes and calculates the development of manufacturing industry,energy utilization and carbon dioxide emission in China.The fourth chapter uses the input-output data of 29 manufacturing industries in China from 2007 to 2016,and uses the super efficiency DEA model to calculate the carbon emission efficiency of each manufacturing industry.The average value over the years is 0.781,which indicates that the carbon emission efficiency of manufacturing industry in China can be greatly improved.According to the carbon emission efficiency values of different industries,this part also divides 29 manufacturing industries into three categories and analyzes the differences of carbon emission efficiency of different industries.In the fifth chapter,Tobit model is used to test the impact of energy structure,endowment structure,environmental regulation,enterprise scale and openness on carbon emission efficiency of China’s manufacturing industry.It is found that,from the perspective of the whole industry,except for the degree of opening to the outside world,all other factors have passed the significance test.Energy structure and endowment structure have a significant positive impact on carbon emission efficiency,while environmental regulation and enterprise scale have a significant negative impact on carbon emission efficiency.In terms of industries,in addition to the significant positiveimpact of environmental regulations on the carbon emission efficiency of three types of manufacturing industries,other factors have different impacts on each industry.Therefore,different energy conservation and emission reduction measures should be formulated according to the characteristics of different types of manufacturing industries.At the end of the paper,the main conclusions of this paper are summarized firstly,and then the suggestions of optimizing energy structure and increasing environmental regulation are put forward to realize the low-carbon development of manufacturing industry.At present,most of the researches on carbon emission efficiency and influencing factors are based on the broader perspective of countries,regions or industries.This paper selects China’s manufacturing industry for analysis and divides it into three categories for further research,which enriches the relevant theories of carbon emission reduction in manufacturing industry.
