Study On Decoration Characteristics In The Development Of Underglaze Red

In the long history of the development of Chinese ceramic art,the predecessors used soil and fire as the medium,and created one art treasure after another with wisdom and sweat.Suddenly one time,the kiln workers found the copper on the porcelain turned red at high temperatures,it triggered them to explore what color would be when copper burning as the temperature changes,and therefore later Underglaze Red appeared.Because of the unique congenital conditions,Jingdezhen kiln has become the main burning land in Underglaze Red.Due to the instability of copper elements in high temperature environment,it forms a rich color change in Underglaze Red.It is the uniqueness of this color,which has been loved by people in the past dynasties.But because of its burning with difficulty and costly,greatly limited the probability of success.With the rise and fall of the dynasty,the course of the development of the Underglaze Red has been broken and burned several times,among which Yuan Dynasty,Hongwu Period in Ming Dynasty and Kangxi Period in Qing Dynasty are the important historical periods of the development of Underglaze Red,and they are also the three stages of the highest achievement of its burning process.In this paper,the characteristics of the development of the Underglaze Red,the technological elements of the Underglaze Red and the difficulty of burning,the similarities and differences between Underglaze Red and copper red glaze,and the main decorative forms of contemporary Underglaze Red are studied and discussed.
