Low basicity slag has the characteristics of high oxidation,low viscosity and high solubility of magnesium oxide,which aggravates the damage degree of magnesia-carbon brick.It will affect the production rhythm of steel plant.The amount of refractory material increases,the consumption of resistant material per ton of steel increases,the brick residual thickness is small,the metamorphic layer is thick,and the waste brick is not easy to recycle.In view of the on-site steel smelting process,this project simulated and analyzed the reaction characteristics of magnesia-carbon refractory and low basicity slag by thermodynamic software,and added antioxidants and additives to carry out the normal temperature physical performance test and slag resistance test of magnesia-carbon refractory.The results of the study show that:(1)It is better to choose the formula of silicon carbide powder or alumina-silicon composite powder(Si/Al=1)as the antioxidant.(2)The magnesia-carbon refractory with 3wt% calcium hexaaluminate added has the best physical properties and slag corrosion resistance.Calcium hexaaluminate and magnesite phase react with Fe Ox in slag to form complex spinel,absorb iron ions in molten slag,and the liquid phase viscosity increases,and the erosion ability decreases.(3)The magnesia-carbon refractory with 3wt% calcium hexaaluminate has the best physical properties and slag resistance at room temperature.The refractory material absorbs the iron ions in the slag and forms a layer of composite spinel on the surface of the particles,which makes the dissolution mode of the particles into the slag change from direct dissolution to indirect dissolution,and prevents the further erosion and penetration of the slag.
