The decorative pattern,bearing the historical track of the development of Chinese culture,is the cultural symbol of the perfect combination of the worship to nature and psychological needs of the early people.Liao dynasty decoration pattern as part of the traditional Chinese decorative grain type,used in ceramic,treasure and jade and so on all kinds of art carrier,the occupies an important position in traditional Chinese art and design,also reflected the social customs and habits of people at that time,with the characteristics of age and ethnic characteristics,to a certain extent,also for the expectation of life,add colour to our national arts and crafts and also.As a nomadic dynasty,the Liao dynasty tended to be bold and generous in its decorative patterns,showing a tendency to open and close up,without any restraint at all.As an important part of Chinese traditional decorative patterns,Liao dynasty decorative patterns play an important role.Based on the modern ceramic design,this paper studies the decorative patterns of Liao Dynasty,probes into the historical investigation and analysis of the decorative patterns of Liao Dynasty,analyzes the classification and artistic style of modern ceramic design and the application of decorative patterns in modern ceramic design,and summarizes the above data.Find out the Liao decorative patterns and modern ceramic design of the fusion point.Theory cannot be separated from practice.The decorative patterns with Liao dynasty characteristics were selected as the extraction elements,and the patterns and shapes were redesigned.Through constant research and practice,the relationship between decorative patterns and modern ceramic design was deeply understood.Finally,a set of works with regional and national characteristics are designed.
