In recent years,with the continuous improvement of people’s living standards,more and more household wastes are produced every day,among which kitchen wastes account for more than half of household wastes.The disposal of kitchen wastes has increasingly become a burden on families and society.At the beginning of the 21 st century,China began to introduce home kitchen waste disposers from abroad.The home kitchen waste disposers launched by many electrical appliance manufacturers only conform to the market demand and respond to national policies.These products mainly present a single function and shape,and have not been considered from the perspective of user needs.Therefore,it is necessary to use the user-centered design method to study the design of kitchen waste disposal unit for home dining.The research process of this paper is as follows: First of all,through sorting out the research status of domestic and foreign kitchen waste disposal machines,found that the lack of kitchen waste disposal machines,and did not consider from the user’s point of view.Based on this,determine the research method and research framework of this paper;Secondly,the definition of UCD(namely user-centered design)is summarized,and the research and development status of UCD at home and abroad is briefly summarized,and the design strategy of kitchen waste disposal machine for home dining is established with UCD theory as the core guidance.Then,analyzes the main ways of disposing of the current kitchen waste,describes the main development trend of the disposal of kitchen waste,and compares the existing kitchen waste disposers.Through market research,the deficiencies of the existing products are obtained.Then,in the aspect of user research,the user group is subdivided into low-frequency users,medium-frequency users and high-frequency users.On-site interviews and questionnaire surveys are conducted on users.Quantitative and qualitative analysis is conducted on the obtained data to sort out and summarize user needs and build a user role model.Final design practice,analysts eat hutch garbage processor product positioning,analyzes its man-machine size and appearance,draw the corresponding sketch schemes were analyzed,at the same time to determine a good sketch is modeling and rendering,determine its colour and material,based on the principles of gestalt psychology was carried out on the interface and visual design,it is concluded that the final design scheme,And recruit users to evaluate the final design scheme.Through literature research,market research and user research,this paper found that the existing problems of the kitchen waste disposal machine for home dining include: simple modeling,lack of aesthetic feeling,unreasonable man-machine size,single function and so on.This paper summarizes the user’s demand for the kitchen waste disposal machine for home dining,which is mainly manifested in the following aspects: convenient operation,perfect function,easy identification of annotations and prompts,beautiful appearance and good experience,etc.Based on the design strategy of UCD,the design scheme of kitchen waste disposal machine for home dining was proposed,and the user’s satisfaction to the scheme reached the expected level.
