Research On The Path Of INGO’s Participation In Environmental Governance Of Amazon Rainforest

As an important part of the global environmental governance system,a large number of international non-governmental organizations have emerged in the global environmental governance arena,and gradually established a relatively independent position.By virtue of their own characteristics,international non-governmental organizations have played a unique role in promoting the idea of environmental protection,enhancing the public awareness of environmental protection,and establishing global environmental mechanism,which has attracted wide attention in the world.With the deepening and expansion of the development of Amazon Rainforest,due to the blind logging,the development of agriculture and animal husbandry,and excessive logging of timber,the tropical rain forest has been destroyed on a large scale and its area has decreased sharply.The world’s largest rain forest is being irreparably damaged by wildfires and excessive deforestation.In the wave of globalization,the management of the Amazon Rainforest is no longer a simple domestic environmental issue,and relevant international non-governmental organizations have played an important role in the management process of the Amazon Rainforest.This paper tries to answer the following questions:First,how do international NGOs carry out environmental governance in the Amazon region,and what role do they play? Secondly,what paths have international NGOs chosen to participate in environmental governance and what kind of analytical framework have they constructed? Finally,what similarities and differences do the three international NGOs--Greenpeace,Imazon,and the Rainforest Alliance--show in their approach to managing the Amazon rainforest?Beyond the participation of international non-governmental organizations in environmental governance of Amazon rainforest and even global environmental governance,From the perspective of the commonness of international non-governmental organizations’ participation in governance,their governance paths mostly show the characteristics of top-down,and at the same time,according to the particularity of governance goals,targeted governance means are set to form governance paths.Because international non-governmental organizations do not have the same independent legitimacy as sovereign states,and not every organization has sufficient financial support,but they show great flexibility in facing the problem of environmental governance,and they can obtain information in multiple fields for the purpose of governance.This paves the way for this paper to build the choice path of international non-governmental organizations to participate in governance.Based on this,after constructing the analysis framework of this paper,combined with the governance practice activities of the three selected international non-governmental organizations in the Amazon rainforest to test the analysis framework,and sort out and summarize the governance experience,development prospects,challenges and difficulties of the three organizations,so as to provide reference for the further governance of the Amazon rainforest.
