Gannan Maqu Grassland is an important part of the "Kidney of the Yellow River"and the "Water Tower of China".In the past 40 years, the Maqu grassland has serious ecological problems, which have restricted the water conservation function of the upper reaches of the Yellow River and the sustainable development of the regional economy and society.Ecological management and protection are urgent. In the practice of ecological governance, the power of scientific knowledge is undoubtedly powerful.National-level institutional policies, promotion experiments of scientific research institutions, and governance actions of ecological restoration companies, etc.,all bring the universality and reliability endowed by scientific knowledge to "play their fists." ".In addition,in the past few decades, some people have advocated and supported and reviewed past knowledge and local wisdom. They believed that we should not rely too much on scientific knowledge and learn to recognize and enjoy the "gifts" of local knowledge. It is meaningless to create opposing situations for the two kinds of knowledge, and the ultimate goal is to use the two kinds of knowledge to solve the problem faithfully based on reality. From the perspective of synergy between local ecological knowledge and scientific knowledge, based on the ecological governance situation in Maqu County, this article focuses on the ecological governance practices of herders, the state, scientific research institutions, and ecological organizations and enterprises. The "interaction" between local knowledge and scientific knowledge in different fields such as,grassroots level, and so on,explores how local ecological knowledge and scientific knowledge cooperate to produce synergy and cooperative effects. We believe that local knowledge and scientific knowledge are complementary to each other;the important level of the key possibility for the realization of the goals of collaborative governance of the two lies in the local herdsmen;the formation of an organic whole of cooperation and co-governance is conducive to our overall grasp and correct application of knowledge,So as to achieve good ecological management of grassland.
