Phthalates are SVOCs(Semi-volatile Organic Compounds)that are widely used as plasticizer in industrial and daily home products.This study is part of the research“China,China,Health,Home(CCHH)” in Tianjin area.In Phase II,382 urine samples were collected from children aged 0-8 yeas of 399 homes in Tianjin and Cangzhou homes.Based on the concentrations of Monoethyl Phthalate(MEP),Mono-iso-butyl Phthalate(MiBP),Mono-n-butyl Phthalate(Mn BP),Monobenzyl Phthalate(MBz P),Mono(ethylhexyl)Phthalate(MEHP),Mono-(2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl)Phthalate(MEOHP),Mono-(2-ethyl-5-hydroxyhexyl)Phthalate(MEHHP)and Mono-(2-ethyl-5-carboxypenty)Phthalate(MECPP)in above urine samples,internal exposure of children was assessed;associations between concnetrations of phthalates metabolites and indoor protiential sources were analyzed;the contribution rate of phthalates intaking via swallowing settle dust to the human internal phthalates exposure was evaluated.Furthermore,this study also explored the assocications between concentrations of phthalates metabolites in urine and children’s allergic disease.The main reseach conclusions were as follows:(1)MiBP,Mn BP and MECPP were the main phthalates metabolites in urine of children from Tianjin area and Cangzhou area.(2)DEHP had the highest internal exposure level in children.Meanwhile,there were totally 7.6 %(29/382)children whose internal exposure of phthalates exceeded the limited level.(3)The use of laminated wood floor,painting,wall paper or PVC window frame could significantly increase concentrations of specific phthalates metabolites;using furniture polish and perfume in home could significantly increase concentrations of specific phthalates metabolites.(4)The contribution rate of DEP,Di BP,Dn BP,and DEHP intaking via swallowing settle dust to the human internal phthalates exposure were 0.04%,1.3%,4.2%,and 8.4%respectively.(5)In urban area,higher MEP concentration in children’s urine was significantly associated with eczema current among children(AOR=1.74),and higher Mn BP concentration in children’s urine was significantly associated with eczema ever among children(AOR=1.68);in rural area,higher MiBP concentration in children’s urine was significantly associated with asthma ever among children(AOR = 7.65). |
