At present,the development of human society is accelerating;the contradiction is more and more obvious between energy and ecology;the green energy wins the favor of people;the methods of hydrogen production are various.Combined with the merit points of photoelectric conversion from the solar,the medium of water electrolysis emerges from numerous of methods.In the way of exploring the unknown in detail,the electrolytic water technology is divided into hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER).From here we see that to find a hydrogen and oxygen evolution catalyst which is cheap,efficient and stable,can be a key factor to promote hydrogen production technology from electrolytic water.In this paper,we come from the train of thought of the catalyst and electrolyte,designing three kinds of Fe/Ni based self-supporting electrode materials which are Pt/NiFe-OH,(Fe/Ni)Sx-OH and Fe Ni-OOH using nickel foam(NF)as the base framework.Due to the participating of Pt,the Pt/NiFe-OH reveals a significant improvement in HER performance.Say it precisely,when test the performance in KOH solutions,the applied hydrogen evolution overpotential is only 40 m V when the current density on working electrode is 10 m A cm-2.In the progress of water splitting,oxygen evolution reaction involves multiple protons coupling and is a four-electron transfer process.On account of its slow reaction rate,it become the vital step of the whole water splitting progress.Briefly speaking,it’s on an equal basis to design the OER and HER catalysts.On the other hand of OER,the(Fe/Ni)Sx-OH oxygen evolution catalysts are prepared by one step vulcanization on the self-supporting materials.When testing in KOH solutions on the exchange current density of 100 m A cm-2,the corresponding electrolytic voltage of OER is only 252 m V.Burgeoning the technology of hydrogen production from electrolytic water,besides of the problem of catalyzer,as time went by,there will arise another problem of the shortage of fresh water.Thus,the Fe Ni-OOH synthesized by hydrothermal method to remove of electrolytic dye in wastewater also proposes in this paper.This method can both acquire the hydrogen and handle the waste water,which widen the thought of the long-standing aspiration of bringing benefits to mankind as soon as possible.
