Research On The Influence Of Group Norms On Unsafe Behavior Of Construction Workers

A large number of theoretical and empirical studies show that unsafe behavior of construction workers is the direct cause of accidents.In the study of the influencing factors of unsafe behavior of construction workers,scholars pay more attention to the individual factors and organizational factors,but less to the group factors.But in fact,construction workers have significant group characteristics,and their behavior is influenced by various group factors.Group norms are important influencing factors of group,which have been divided by many scholars into two forms according to group differences: formal norms and informal norms.The current research only distinguishes them conceptually,and lack of empirical research.The influence path and function difference norms on the unsafe behavior of construction workers is not clear.In view of the above problems,this paper studies the influence of formal norms and informal norms on unsafe behavior of construction workers,and analyzes the influence mechanism of group norms on unsafe behavior of construction workers,and deepens the understanding of unsafe behavior of construction workers.According to the conclusion of the study,the control suggestions of unsafe behavior of construction workers are put forward.Firstly,based on theoretical analysis and deductive reasoning,this paper puts forward relevant assumptions,and constructs a theoretical model of group norms affecting unsafe behavior of construction workers.It includes the main effect model of formal norms and informal norms affecting the unsafe behavior of construction workers,the intermediary effect model of introducing safety attitude and safety capacity as intermediary variables and the interactive effect model of them acting on the unsafe behavior of construction workers.Then use questionnaires to collect data,with the help of SPSS22.0 and AMOS21.0,the questionnaire data is subjected to descriptive statistics,reliability and validity test.Using structural equation model and hierarchical regression analysis to test main effect,mediation effect and interaction effect,the intergenerational effect is further tested by multi-group structural equation model.The results show that :1)formal norms and informal norms have a significant impact on unsafe behavior of construction workers;2)safety attitude and safety capacity play a mediating role in the impact of formal norms and informal norms on unsafe behavior of construction workers;3)the interaction of formal norms and informal norms in influencing unsafe behaviour of construction workers;4)formal norms and informal norms have intergenerational differences in the impact of unsafe behavior of construction workers.This paper studies the impact effect of formal norms and informal norms on unsafe behavior of construction workers,which is helpful to strengthen the practical role of group norms in the control of unsafe behavior of construction workers.According to the results of theoretical analysis and empirical test,this paper puts forward the control measures of unsafe behavior of construction workers from the perspective of group norms,including strengthening the role of formal norms by perfecting rules and regulations,improving safety training system,guiding the direction of informal norms on the basis of correct identification of informal groups,playing the role of positive informal norms,restraining the influence of negative informal norms,and further putting forward targeted management methods combined with intergenerational differences.At the same time,a new idea for the safety management of the construction industry is presented.
