| With the continuous advancement of my country’s urban-rural integration process, the rural economy has shown a steady upward trend, and the living standards of villagers have been qualitatively improved. However, due to the imperfect legal system and regulations in rural areas, the imperfect domestic waste management system, and the weak awareness of environmental protection and participation of villagers, domestic waste management has become a problem that needs to be solved urgently in the development of rural areas.Under the situation where the traditional government governance model and the market governance model both fail, the cultivation of social capital to promote villagers’ independent governance has become a new direction to improve the level of rural domestic waste governance.Lujiayan Village in Ningbo City,Zhejiang Province once faced many domestic waste management dilemmas such as weakening of traditional trust, weakening of original norms, and incomplete relationship network. However,it adopted measures such as open village affairs, three major contracts, and the system of contacting households for party members and women representatives.Increased the stock of social capital, achieved significant governance results, and provided a strong realistic basis for other rural areas to control domestic waste and improve the ecological environment, which has important reference significance. Therefore, based on the analysis of the overall status quo of rural domestic waste, this article starts from the perspective of social capital theory and takes Lujiayan Village,Ningbo City,Zhejiang Province as the case study object,to explore the mechanism of social capital and rural domestic waste governance.By summarizing the successful measures of the Lujiayan village model, clarifying the role of social capital in the treatment of domestic waste, tapping the specific limits of social capital in the treatment of domestic waste, and tentatively proposing to increase the stock of social capital as a breakthrough to get rid of The specific path to the dilemma of rural domestic waste management: my country’s rural areas should cultivate social capital for domestic waste management by restoring universal trust, perfecting reciprocal norms, and repairing the network of relationships to stimulate villagers’ awareness of participation and adapt to the new needs of rural environmental development. |
