The thermophysical(density),acoustics(speed of sound),transport(viscosity),and optical(refractive index)data of the solution are very useful in the design and operation of chemical processes.At the same time,studying the dependence of physical and chemical properties such as density and viscosity on the composition of the mixture is essential for understanding intermolecular interactions.Low-molecular-weight PEG is generally regarded as an environmentally friendly non-toxic solvent and has a large number of important industrial applications.However,the current literature still lacks the physical and chemical properties of its mixed system with water and molecular organic solvents.(1)The overall deviation of the binary system between PEG 400 and water and alcohol is greater than that of the binary system between PEG 400 and amide;(2)Proton solvent,water can form hydrogen bond with PEG 400,and water alcohol solvent(H2O/methanol/ethanol/1-propanol)can form strong intermolecular interaction with PEG400.The order of interaction is PEG 400+H2O>PEG 400+MeOH>PEG 400+EtOH>PEG 400+1-PrOH.However,the interaction between amide solvents(DMF/DMA/DMPA/DMPU)and PEG 400 is weak,and the order of interaction is PEG 400+DMF>PEG 400+DMA>PEG 400+DMPA>PEG 400+DMPU;(3)According to the law of property changes,it is found that the viscosity and refractive index are large,and the solvent with the greater deviation has strong solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions with PEG 400,while the viscosity and refractive index are small,and the deviation is also small.The opposite is true for solvents.Through the above research,on the one hand,it provides a reference for the research of the binary system in the solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions,and at the same time,it also expands the relevant physical and chemical database to provide a certain theoretical and application basis for future industrial applications.
