Study On HACCP Management System Construction Scheme Of NY Agri From The Perspective Of Work Safety Management

Work safety in the farming industry has always been a major issue that needs urgent attention and effective solution.The International Institute for Social Security（ISSA）ranks farming as one of the three most dangerous industries,along with mining and construction.Among the numerous sectors in the farming industry,the most accidents and occupational hazards occur on pig farms.Working on pig farms is itself a dangerous occupation,and advances in intensification and mechanization of pig farming have increased the risks of many physical,chemical and biological hazards,among which asphyxiation in confined spaces including slurry pit,feed silo and bins,are some of the many safety risks unique to pig farming^1,2.The basic concept of HACCP management system is prevention.The system can be flexibly used in work safety management.It is a science-based and systematic method,as well as an analysis tool.It has been used as an effective and reliable tool for work safety management on pig farms.Using 3 pig farms from NY Agri as case study,this paper studies the construction process of HACCP management system through investigation and identification of the existing issues in work safety management along with their influencing factors.Then an improvement scheme is proposed by constructing a HACCP system for work safety management.Lastly,the paper puts forward supporting measures for the improvement scheme.The significance of implementing HACCP management system in NY Agri lies in:1)prevent work safety related accidents,improve employee well-being;2)standardize the safety management system and clarify the main responsibilities and responsible persons;3)establish efficient mutual supervision between all departments and all relevant personnel of the pig farms;4)reduce opportunity loss in pig production associated with safety hazards and improve productivity and profitability;5)provide ideas and methods for and set good example to Agribusiness in the locality in improving work safety management.Based on the reality of agribusinesses in China,this paper aims to help these companies to invest in and maintain a constantly developing work safety management program that brings great economic benefit and help to achieve sustainable development.
