Microwave modification and regeneration are new methods,which are mainly used to rapidly heat interior of activated carbon by ion conductive and dipole rotation.To achieve the purpose of activated carbon modification and regeneration,new apertures of activated carbon are generated and active center of activated carbon are formed to promote organic degradation by microwave.In this study,activated carbon were investigated by microwave modification and regeneration.Methylene Blue(MB)as a standard for evaluation,the effect of the adsorption capacity of modified and regenerated activated carbon were investigated.Based on this,activated carbon operated by microwave modification and regeneration was used to remove sulfachloropyridazine(SCP)to explore the influence of microwave on activated carbon.Through Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET),Scanning Election Microscopy(SEM),and The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)characterizations,the change of chemical composition,surface morphology,microstructure and pore structure of activated carbon were investigated.Further,Cu2+loaded activated carbons were studied by continuous microwave induction.The results are as follows:Compared to the original activated carbon(OAC),The specific surface area(SBET)and microporous volume(Vmicro)of activated carbon increased by microwave modification(PAC),water-cooked modification(PAC-1),hydrochloric acid modification(PAC-2).The SBET of PAC-1,PAC-2 were greater 47.91%,45.22%than that of OAC,respectively.Also,The VmicroAC-1,PAC-2 increased by 1.29,1.18 times than that of OAC,respectively.The(SBET)and Vmicro of activated carbon more improved by microwave modification than other two ways.The SBET of PAC was 880.42 m~2g-1,which was 91.29%greater than that of OAC(SBET of460.25m~2g-1).The micropore volume of PAC(Vmicro=0.4035 cm~3g-1)increased by 1.6 times than that of OAC(Vmicro=0.1548 cm~3g-1).Therefore,microwave modification has a better effect.Methylene Blue(MB)as a standard for evaluation,50 m L of MB with corresponding beginning concentrations(10 mg/L)was adsorbed at a temperature of 25°C,and a holding shock time of120 min.Adsorption capacity of PAC significantly increased form 14.38 mg/g to 28.35 mg/g.Activated carbon was regenerated under 700W of microwave power,4 min of microwave time,volume of"hotspot"control agent(1 m L),"hot spot"control agent(distilled water),high fire.The fluctuations of adsorption capacity values of regenerated activated carbon(RAC)for MB were in a stable range(23.00-28.35 mg/g).Through BET analyses,the SBET of 6th-RAC was still as high as 873.41 m~2g-1 after 6 continuous microwave regeneration.Based on this,activated carbon was regenerated under 700W of microwave power,2 min of microwave time,volume of"hotspot"control agent(2 m L),"hot spot"control agent(distilled water),high fire.SCP as Contaminant,100 m L of SCP with corresponding beginning concentrations(10 mg/L)was adsorbed at a temperature of 25°C,and a holding shock time of12 h.The fluctuations of adsorption capacity values of RAC for SCP were in a very small range(23.95 mg/g-26.71 mg/g),Through BET analyses,SBET of RAC kept within a stable range(824.97-868.88 cm~2g-1),and SBET of 6th-RAC was still as high as 861.18 m~2g-1,Compared to PAC,Functional group(-OH)of Cu2+loaded activated carbon did not change much by high temperature(Cu@AC),1 microwave induction(1st-Cu@AC).Functional group(-OH)of Cu2+loaded activated carbon decreased very much by 6 microwave induction,this indicated that activated carbon was loaded by the copper ions under microwave.Through BET analyses,SBETof 1st-Cu@AC,6th-Cu@AC were decreased and Vmicroof them were increased compared to Cu@AC.SBET of 6th-Cu@AC reduces,and Vmicrowas increased.The reason is that activated carbon was loaded Cu2+by microwave induction.Methylene Blue(MB)as a standard for evaluation,50 m L of MB with corresponding beginning concentrations(10 mg/L)was adsorbed at a temperature of 25°C,and a holding shock time of 120 min.the adsorption capacity of modified activated carbon(1st-Cu@AC)for MB increased by 12.15%after 1microwave induction.indicating that Cu2+loaded activated carbon has a certain modification effect...
