Cottonseed protein is a sustainable biomass resource with abundant sources.In recent years,green polymer materials prepared from cottonseed protein have been successively reported in biodegradable plastics,protein adhesives and nanofiber membranes and other biomedical fields.However,cottonseed protein nanofiber/composite fiber membrane materials are difficult to be fabricated.The mechanical properties and water resistance of fiber membrane are insufficient for application.In this project,cottonseed protein isolate was obtained by extracting and isoliating the raw cottonseed protein,and then blended with polyethylene oxide as a spinning aid.With the assistance of a small amount of surfactant sodium lauryl sulfate,the fiber spinnability of cottonseed protein isolate was significantly improved.The cottonseed protein isolate/polyethylene oxide composite fiber membrane was successfully prepared by electrospinning.The composite fiber membrane with certain orientation and better mechanical properties was prepared by changing the receiving rate during electrospinning.In addition,a cross-linked cottonseed protein isolate/polyethylene oxide composite fiber membrane was prepared in,which epoxy linseed oil was introduced as a cross-linking agent significantly improving the tensile strength and water resistance of the fiber membrane material.The research contents and results are as follows:(1)The effects of spinning solution concentration and ratios of cottonseed protein isolate and polyethylene oxide on the micro morphology of cottonseed protein isolate nanofibers were studied.The most suitable spinning solution concentration was selected as 14 wt%,and the ratio of cottonseed protein isolate and polyethylene oxide was 2:8.By increasing the receiving rate during electrospinning,fibers with more obvious orientation arrangement can be obtained.The tensile strength of oriented fibers increases from 1.39 MPa to 5.02 MPa,an increase of261.2%.(2)In view of the deficiency of water resistance of cottonseed protein isolate composite fiber membrane,epoxy flaxseed oil was used for cross-linking modification.It was found that the water resistance and mechanical properties of cottonseed protein composite fiber membrane were improved.For example,the water contact angle of the membrane material increased from 31.5 ° before modification to 63.8 °,an increase of 102%,the characteristics of hydrophilic materials;The tensile strength of cross-linked cottonseed protein isolate fiber membrane increased from 1.39 MPa to 1.96 MPa,an increase of 41%,but the amount of crosslinking agent should be controlled within an appropriate range.In this work,the spinnability of cottonseed protein was significantly improved by introducing polyoxyethylene and sodium dodecyl sulfate.A series of cottonseed protein isolate/polyoxyethylene composite fiber membranes and oriented fiber membranes were successfully prepared;The water resistance and mechanical properties of the fiber membrane were improved by crosslinking with epoxy flaxseed oil.The research ideas and experimental results have certain guiding significance for the development and application of protein based fiber membrane materials.
