ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of anterior cervical single-segment fixation and analyze the risk factors of postoperative dysphagiaMethodsThe general data and operative data of patients who underwent anterior cervical single-segment fixation from January 2015 to June 2017 were retrospectively analyzed.A total of 77 patients were included in the analysis.JOA score was used to evaluate the efficacy of anterior cervical single-segment fixation surgery.According to whether dysphagia symptoms occurred one week after surgery, the patients with dysphagia were the experimental group(33cases)and the control group(44 cases). After the operation, patients were followed up regularly and the occurrence of dysphagia at different follow-up time points was evaluated.Relevant factors causing dysphagia after the single-segment fixation of the anterior cervical were analyzed.ResultsSeventy-seven patients underwent anterior cervical single-segment fixation with satisfactory results, and the difference between preoperative andpostoperative JOA scores was statistically significant(P<0.05).Univariate and multivariate analyses indicated that the proportion of patients with dysphagia who were over 65 years old,had a course of disease of more than 1 year, did not take trachea functional exercise before surgery, and had an operation time of more than 1 hour was higher than that of the non-dysphagia group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).ConclusionsThe clinical effect can be achieved by anterior cervical fixation. The independent risk factors for dysphagia after anterior cervical decompression and fusion were age over 65 years, duration of disease over 1 year,no preoperative tracheal functional exercise, and operation time over 1 hour.
