The Observation Of The Efficacy Of Yikang Decoction Combined With Methimazole In The Treatment Of Graves Disease

ObjectiveThis topic is to investigate the efficacy and safety of Yikang Decoction in treating patients with Graves disease by clinical observation of Yikang Decoction combined with methimazole in patients with newly diagnosed or recurrent Graves disease.MethodsSixty-four patients with GD in the endocrinology department of the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital of Guangdong Province were selected and randomly divided into two groups.The treatment group was treated with Yikang Decoction combined with methimazole and the control group was given oral methimazole alone.Observe the initial treatment and at 4,8 and 12 weeks afterwards,observe the changes in heart rate,weight,TCM symptom score,and thyroid function(FT4,FT3,TSH)in the two groups,and detect thyroid stimulating hormone antibodies before and after treatment(TRAb),thyroid peroxidase antibody level(TPOAb);compare the incidence of adverse reactions(liver damage,agranulocytosis,itching of the skin)between the two groups of patients.ResultsAfter treatment,the TCM symptom score and heart rate of the two groups of patients were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the body weight was significantly increased(P<0.05).The treatment group was significantly better than the control group in reducing TCM symptom scores(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference between the treatment group and the control group in reducing heart rate and increasing weight.Four weeks after the initial treatment,serum FT4 and FT3 values in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in serum TSH values.At 8 and 12 weeks of treatment,serum FT3,FT4,and There were no significant differences in TSH.Compared with before and after treatment,the serum TRAb and TPOAb of the treatment group and the control group decreased significantly(P＜0.01);compared with the control group,the serum TPOAb of the treatment group decreased more significantly(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in TRAb.Before and after treatment,there were no significant changes in safety indicators in the two groups,and no significant adverse reactions occurred during the treatment.ConclusionYikang Decoction combined with methimazole can reduce thyroid hormone levels,improve clinical symptoms,and also regulate thyroid peroxidase levels and improve immune function in patients with Graves disease.In addition,the adverse reactions of Yikang Decoction combined with methimazole have no significant difference compared with methimazole alone,and its clinical application is safe and feasible.
