Objective:1.To investigate the expression of AGEs(advanced glycation end-products,AGEs),sRAGE(soluble receptor for advanced glycation end-products,sRAGE)and vitamin D in serum of women with PCOS(polycystic ovary syndrome,PCOS).2.To study the correlation between AGEs,sRAGE,vitamin D in serum of women with PCOS and the indexes of their endocrine and metabolic.Methods:PCOS patients with hyperandrogonemia(61 cases)and PCOS patients without hyperandrogonemia(43 cases)whose ages were between 20 to 40 that were selected as PCOS(hyperandrogenemia +)group and PCOS(hyperandrogenemia-)group.They were treated in the gynecological outpatient department of Women And Children’s Hospital,School Of Medicine,Xiamen University between January 2019 to June 2019.And 41 cases non-PCOS patients who be treated in the same period were selected as the control group.General information was collected for all subjects.Subjects collected early follicular phase elbow venous blood and detect which,AGEs,25-hydroxyvitamin D(25-hydroxyvitamin D,25(OH)D),sRAGE,total cholesterol(total cholesterol,TC),triglyceride(triglycerides,TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(low density lipoprotein cholesterol,LDL)etc,which are blood fat indexes,fasting plasma glucose(fasting plasma glucose,FPG),fasting insulin(fasting insulin,FINS),etc,which are the indices of blood sugar,follicle stimulating hormone(follicle-stimulating hormone,FSH),luteinizing hormone(luteinizing hormone,LH),total testosterone(total testosterone,TT),anti-mullerian hormone(anti-mullerian hormone,AMH)etc,which are sex hormones indicators,free androgen index(free androgen index,FAI)and homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance(homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance,HOMA-IR)were calculated.The serum levels of AGEs,sRAGE and25(OH)D in the three groups were compared,and the serum levels of AGEs,sRAGE and 25(OH)D level were correlated with endocrine and metabolic indexes in the three groups.Results:1.Comparison of data of patients in three groupsLH,LH/FSH,TT,AMH,FINS,one hour postload plasma insulin,two hour postload plasma insulin,FAI,HOMA-IR showed statistically significant differences among the three groups(P < 0.05).2.Serological comparison and correlation analysis amoug vitamin D,AGEs and sRAGESerum level of 25(OH)D in the PCOS(hyperandrogonemia-)and PCOS(hyperandrogonemia +)groups were lower than those in the control group(P <0.05).Serum level of AGEs in the PCOS(hyperandrogonemia-)and PCOS(hyperandrogonemia +)groups were higher than those in the control group(P < 0.05).Serum level of sRAGE in the PCOS(hyperandrogonemia +)group was lower than that in the control group(P < 0.05).Serum level of 25(OH)D was positively correlated with sRAGE level in PCOS(hyperandrogonemia-)group and PCOS(hyperandrogonemia +)group(r = 0.377,0.318,P < 0.05).Serum level of AGEs was positively correlated with serum level of sRAGE in the PCOS(hyperandrogonemia +)group(r = 0.592,P < 0.05).There was no correlation between serum levels of 25(OH)D and AGEs in the three groups(P > 0.05).3.Analysis of the correlation between serum vitamin D and endocrine metabolic indexThe three groups were stratified by BMI ≥24kg/m2,and the difference in serum25(OH)D level between overweight and non-overweight patients was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).PCOS group and control group were stratified according to whether homa-ir was > 2.69,respectively.The difference in serum 25(OH)D level between insulin resistant group and non-insulin resistant group was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).In the PCOS group,there was a negative correlation between 25(OH)D and FINS level(r =-0.306,P < 0.05),but no correlation between 25(OH)D and FINS level in the control group(P >,0.05).In the three groups,there was no correlation between 25(OH)D and endocrine and lipid indexes(P >,0.05).4.Analysis of correlation between serum level of sRAGE and serum levels of endocrine and metabolic indexesIn the PCOS group,serum sRAGE was negatively correlated with AMH,TG,and LDL(r =-0.207,-0.209,-0.214,P < 0.05).In the control group,serum level of sRAGE was positively correlated with TG(r =0.311,P < 0.05),while serum level of sRAGE was negatively correlated with FPG and OGTT-2h(r =-0.351,-0.333,P < 0.05).5.Analysis of the correlation between serum level of AGEs and serum level of endocrine and metabolic indexesIn the PCOS group,serum AGEs level was positively correlated with FAI,AMH,FINS,and 1-hour insulin(r = 0.234,0.304,0.234,0.461,P < 0.05),but not with TC,TG,HDL,LDL,and TG(P > 0.05).Serum level of AGEs was negatively correlated with LH and estradiol(E2)in the control group(r =-0.375,-0.345,P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.Compared with women of normal childbearing age,PCOS patients had lower serum vitamin D levels and higher AGEs levels.2.Serum sRAGE level of PCOS patients with hyperandrogenemia was lower than that of normal women of childbearing age.3.Serum 25(OH)D level of PCOS patients was positively correlated with sRAGE level.4.Serum AGEs level and sRAGE level of patients with PCOS and hyperandrogen were positively correlated.
