Objective: To explore the relationship between stromal cell-derived factor-1(SDF-1)and distal symmetric multiple neuropathy(DSPN)in diabetes. Methods: A total of 215 patients with type 2 diabetes(T2DM)at the Department of Endocrinology, the First Affiliated Hospital of China University of Science and Technology(Anhui Province Hospital)from September 2018 to October 2019 were included in this study. All patients were divided into non-DSPN group and DPN group, respectively. The serum level of SDF-1 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)Spearman correlation analysis was used to assess the relationship between SDF-1 and the other indexes.Multiple linear regression was used to evaluate the influence factors of SDF-1.To analyzed the related factors of the occurrence of DSPN,logistic binary regression was used. Results: Compared with non-DSPN group, the serum level of SDF-1 in DPN group was significantly lower[(317.66±19.72)vs.(515.88±41.39),p = 0.000],while the disease duration was significantly longer[(9.95±6.84)vs.(7.61±7.28),p = 0.016].The differences of SDF-1 level and diabetes duration between the two groups were statistically significant(P <0.05).Spearman analysis showed that SDF-1 was negatively associated with either disease duration(r =-0.191,P <0.05)or CPE(r =-0.150,P<0.05).There were no correlations between SDF-1 and BMI,Hb A1 c,FBG,TG,TC,LDL-C,HDL-C(r =-0.108,0.046,-0.128,-0.102,-0.117,-0.070,0.091,P >0.05).Multiple linear regression showed that the presence of DSPN,HOMA-β,CPE,LDL-C were independent factors of SDF-1(P <0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that the decreased of serum SDF-1 level and disease durationwere the factors affecting the occurrence of DSPN.Conclusion: The serum SDF-1 level was lower in DSPN patients.Decreased serum SDF-1 might be associated with the pathogenesis of DSPN in diabetes.
