| Objective:The instability model of goat cervical vertebra was established, and the biomechanical stability of the new curved cervical titanium mesh with endplate ring was tested. Methods:The anatomical data of the cervical vertebrae of adult Guizhou white goats were measured in order to select a new type of curved cervical titanium mesh with endplate ring which is suitable for the cervical vertebrae of Guizhou white goats.Twenty-four goats with preserved articular capsule, ligament and intervertebral disc were randomly divided into four groups: group A(n = 6)as normal group, group B(n = 6)as model group, group C(n = 6)as experimental group and group D(n = 6)as control group. There was no special treatment in group A,partial resection of C4 vertebrae and upper and lower intervertebral disc in group B,cervical titanium mesh with endplate ring in group C and plate and screw fixation in group B,and traditional straight titanium mesh in group B and plate and screw assisted fixation in group D.The American magic gait analysis system was used to measure the ROM,of four groups of specimens: flexion, extension, left and right lateral bending and left and right rotation under 2.0NM load to test their three-dimensional motion stability. The axial compression test machine of BOSE Company was used to measure the displacement of C and D groups under 200 N compression torque, calculate their stiffness and test their anti-settlement ability. The ROM of group An and group B,group An and group C,group C and group D and the difference of stiffness between group C and group D were compared by the method of analysis of variance.Results:1.The range of movement in all directions in group A was smaller than that in group B,and the difference is meaningful(P < 0.05).2.The range of movement in all directions in group A was larger than that in group C,and the difference is meaningful(P < 0.05).3.The range of flexion movement in group C was smaller than that in group D,and the difference is meaningful(P < 0.05).4.The stiffness of group C was higher than that of group D,and the difference is meaningful(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.The model of cervical instability in goats was successfully established.2.The new curved cervical titanium mesh with endplate ring has good three-dimensional motion stability.3.Compared with the traditional straight titanium mesh, the new curved cervical titanium mesh with endplate ring is more stable in flexion movement.4.Compared with the traditional straight titanium mesh, the new curved cervical titanium mesh with endplate ring has stronger anti-settlement ability. |
